Played five games for the Western Bulldogs in 2018, after being drafted by the Bulldogs with pick 70 in the 2016 national draft. Although he was on the Bulldogs' list until the end of 2020, he didn't manage another senior game. After being delisted by the Bulldogs, he signed with Box Hill and he kicked 30 goals from nine games in the shortened 2021 VFL season. In 2022, he was in the mix for the Frosty Miller Medal for leading goalkicker in the VFL right up to the final round of the campaign, finishing the season with 53 goals from 17 games.

He becomes the fourth player from Box Hill that has joined the Hawthorn list in the last two years (James Blanck, Lachlan Bramble and Jai Newcombe are the other three).

Exactly the right player we need. Was unlucky first time around with the Dogs as he spent half the time there injured and I believe we didn't actually see his true potential. If you can kick 80 goals in 25 games of VFL footy your ready to step back into the AFL system. Great age and will help Lewis and Kosi by taking pressure off them somewhat. Plays like a smaller version of Gunner which is why Sam has gone down this path.

Always wanted Fergus Greene hope he continues with his great work

Great pick up! He will be playing for BHH but when Lewis or Kosi are injured a great back up. Has really deserved this opportunity, hope he gives it a red hot crack.

Very solid pick up, low risk high reward kind of move which I love 👍

And just like our other recruits so far this year (Meek and Stephens) we are not exactly overburdened with players in his position (medium forwards) so there is a spot there for him round 1 2023 if he puts in a good pre season.

Looks like more like a straight up Gunners replacement to me TBH than a key position forward.

Can see him playing round 1 next year as like Gunners was this year medium forwards who can kick bags of goals are like gold in this league.

Not sure this will be the case. He might be playing the Gunston role.
