Stuff em Ginni, show 'em the ball every frigging time ya can! Get under their skin, get in their heads & keep kicking goals to fuel their hate while you're having fun. Luv ya work 🙌

Exactly.
They already hate the hawks, stop trying to be everyone's friends. The media will turn on a dime, the oppo fans tune in to hate us which is good for business

While I’m not personally the biggest fan of it, feels a bit different to a celebration to me. I also couldn’t imagine being so soft to get offended over a player doing it either though, as long as he can cop it back the either way (which he has) then play on.

Forgetting about that little bit of lairising from Ginni for a moment we should acknowledge the rich vein of form he is currently in.

Averaging 28 disposals and 2.5 goals a game over the last two weeks. Keep that kind of form up and he could be a smokey for AA squad.

Shows his character that he took his one week demotion to the VFL in the right way and has come back absolutely fired up for a huge year.

No chance of AA.
Early season form holds too much weight, combined with being absolutely despised by the media. He would need to kick 70 goals just to be looked at

Again the focus on something so irrelevant. Played a great game, is one of the form forwards in the comp and been close to our best player since he came back into the side:

Dogs: 2 goals, 23 disposals
Pies; 3 goals, 31 disposals
Lions: 1 goal, 13 disposals
Suns: 2 goals, 22 disposals
Dees: 1 goal, 17 disposals
Tigers: 2 goals, 23 disposals
Eagles: 2 goals, 17 disposals

Any other player in the comp and the talk would be of elite All Australian form

Was actually everywhere we needed an outlet, standing outside a congested pack ready to dish off to another player or pass it off, did alot of that but also the usual link up across half forward he normally does. Just didn't like the lairising personally but Bevo didn't seem too fazed by it so we should all move on including me.

I absolutely agree with this. It's more the opposition fans that are frothing at the mouth regarding us. Unadulterated hatred in some parts. They were all awfully quiet most of last night until that moment Ginni showed the ball than the socials lit up. Any other club nobody could care less but we get scrutinised like nobody else.

He's a shit stirrer mate, backhanded compliments are his forte. It would be like someone like Coasters7 who frequents the main boards coming onto here and trying to post positive things about the club when he denigrates it at every opportunity. As I said there's no need to say Ginnivan is playing better in a less mature environment if your engaging respectfully. It's at best misinformed. Anyway each to their own.

Yeah, don't agree this is so far off base.
If by mature you mean less goofy, more strict, less adolescently buoyant, more virulently structured, more non negotiable, yada yada......I couldn't agree more with the poster.

MY read of how Sam has spun this forward is that he wanted to rebuild with real youth and didn't believe you could cudgel them with an ultra mature approach and get the absolute best result.
That it would be a project in time, where the natural growth of his players personalities would both welcome and personally drive ever more 'mature' attitudes and behavioural outcomes.

That it was a road to be driven, and that personalities like Ginni's needed to be brought along slowly and with room to both mess up and auto correct as his career advanced.

So no, I disagree with your take and lean more to the visiting posters.

No issue mate, robust discussions are healthy.

How does this stack up against Moore's season last year? 1.86 goals and 21 touches a game is a nice return from a high half forward

He had a really good game - 23 touches, 2 goals, worked hard up the ground and is back to his best form from last season. Since his one week in the naughty corner he's been one of the premier half forwards, as Billyc pointed out.

But IMO that showboating was a bit too much, mainly because he nearly missed the shot from point blank. I'd get it if it was a fiery game, but the Doggies play in good spirits generally and are an inoffensive team.

In great form. Excited to have the entire forward mosquito fleet play together for the 1st time? Ginni, Wiz, Croc, Moorey and Buts playing together in the same game😍.

I'm of the opinion that once you cross that white line, how you act and what you do isn't subject to the same standards of respect and disrespect (not withstanding violent or abusive acts of course)
He has f**ked up when he tweeted things in the past off the field but who cares what he does on field? It's his patch of grass for those 120 minutes and up to him how he wants to carry himself. Super creative and intuitive player and love his shit stirring side. I think he's quietly embracing the tough stuff a lot more this year too.

Looks to have finally got over the ankle injury he had which was mentioned as a crack in it in the preseason doco.

As for the celebrations I really do love them but as MasterSamurai mentioned I’d prefer that the celebrations are kept to the ones that are done that don’t belittle the opposition. Loved the one he did last season with CJ where they bowed at each or the one where it looked like he was downing a beer.

Oh man, isn’t the media milking this, squeezing it for every last imaginable drop. And the gullible are falling for it, hook, line and sinker, every single time….
They get stirred into an absolute frenzy and can't even see they're being completely played by the media.

Absolute moronic shite

Willie Rioli was awarded a free kick and certain 2nd goal after he waved the ball in the faces of Hawthorn players. Yes, he got a light shove from Jiath after kicking the goal, but the umpires basically rewarded the taunt. Now brainboxes in AFL media are writing 1000 word think pieces condemning Ginni's much less aggressive effort. Why wouldnt a smart player try and get a cheap extra goal by attempting the same thing? Makes sense to me. Good play Ginni, don't ever change...
