is this the same st.kilda (who are spruiking this first rounder) that picked Mcartin and Billings??
Hey come on, the anti-JOM crowd think we've got the worst recruiting team ever and St Kilda are the best list builders in the world of sport. Don't come in here with your facts and logic!

Pretty confident that Josh Kelly will be off to St Kilda at the end of the year with our first round pick being on traded to GWS. Means we could have had Josh Kelly instead of Jaeger albeit on a much larger contract.

Makes you think doesn't it.
Any reason you think they will let Kelly go for less than Treloar? kelly is being chased harder (contract size). Cant see them letting him go for 1 pick.

But people don't get to act like petulant campaigners doing that.
Totally unlike the 'petulant campaigners' who crystal ball predictions of O'Meara in the following way, will be Captain, future Hawthorn star.......posting maybe in a week or 2 he will be back, after the bye he will be back, 2018 is when we see the benefits of this trade, patience grasshoppers, 1st round picks are overrated etc etc etc .

All further evidence of O'Meara's future brilliance is based on an unshakable conviction in the clubs trading processes and medical staff.

People have reservations about this trade but some refuse to accept that and backend their posts with insults. Not sure why?

The evidence i have is how well he played in rd1 + 2

Bottom line: with hindsight most trades would be done differently, some not at all, we should still be happy to have him, and discuss what we gave up after at least 1 season - we knew year 1 would be a test for hime

and not to mention when even the commentators were noting the potential when he was doing some good stuff during the JLT. That's all been forgotten!

You're one of my favourite posters for a reason brother!

I've got fingers, toes, legs, whatever I can, crossed... I have hope that Jags will be at least be a very good footballer, the signs and messages from the club aren't really that to fill yourself with confidence. This is firmly on the recruiting, medics and list management guys, if he doesn't come back then this type of deal can hurt for the next 3-5 years, it really sets the club back. I'm almost at the point where I think 2017 is a wipeout for both he and Jono, this obviously wasn't the idea when recruiting him as it was stated by Clarko that we had top 4 in mind so any argument from the kool aiders regarding the O'mera pick for 2018 and beyond is voided.

This trade will sting if we see what the Saints do with the pick they get from us, if it nets them Fyfe or Kelly then it will sting a little more.

Jaeger Trade Update

We traded away all our picks, if he doesn't come good it will be a failed trade...I just don't know, man.

...stay tuned for further Jaeger Trade Updates!

I think we all, to differing degrees, hold reservations on the trade, however it is short sighted to judge the basis of the trade on such a small sample size. The picks we gave away could end up being busts, they could also end up being the next Fyfe or Pendles.

I also have a gut feel that the club has plans to work it's way back into the first round somehow this year. The litmus test that this year has been had started to sort the wheat from the chaff.
