I hope Jeager doesn't check in on Big Footy, or he would be wondering what he got himself into moving to a club with so many doubting, and ship jumping fans.
Don't be so dramatic Thaihawk, everyone wants him to succeed, many just don't believe the narrative out of the footy club. Ship jumping fans? record membership suggests otherwise, don't misinterpret those questioning the facts around JOM as jumping ship. And you talk about hysteria? What a silly comment.

just my way of expressing my disappointment in the quality of many posts on here Tige. What more do you expect the club to report? They at least published a pic of Jaeger and Cyril on the park this week, and do you think all those pessimistic posters will post apologies, or admit they were wrong if we see the best of JOM next season- not likely.

I have been saying for a long time we have some very fickle supporters here, but fortunately they are out numbered by brown and gold blooded ones.

I like and encourage supporters criticism, but I don't like the way many, go about it, and feel I have the right of reply on this forum.

I bet none of these critical, depressed supporters sitting on their half empty glasses, can name a friend or associate their age whose club has delivered more flags. Yet happiness eludes them, poor souls, I pity them.

There is nobody and I mean nobody on Big Footy who can remember a more successful club than Hawthorn. By successful I mean number of Premierships. Hawthorn is the most successful club in living history. I did add it up once and I now forget the exact figure but one would have to be aged around 90 or over to have remembered a club win more premierships.

I keep pinching myself - did this really happen or am I dreaming and then I realise it did happen I almost break into tears of joy.

Mate, there is only you and I and maybe a dozen others on this board who have actually witnessed this miracle.

Oh how sweet it is

I don't particularly care whether the club is right or wrong about O'Meara because I believe the club can have an immediate injection of class from this year's Free Agents. In any case the modern Hawthorn will build towards another another dynasty.

Let's hope both of us and all the other obsolete oldies are still around to see the next dynasty.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) due to the clubs success expectations have been set, I think most just want to see the club have sustained competitiveness. Look at the Spurs in the NBA, a league with a heavily sanctioned salary cap and rules and they have managed 20 years of sustained success fighting at the top end. No-one can expect flags each year, no-one expects prelims but I think just being highly competitive is the key.

Anyway, I agree, we can be fickle and a demanding lot but that's better than being complacent.
