Question for the ITKs, where would Tucker have gone if he waited for the National Draft Does. Maric was said to have been a top 30 pick if he waited.

Saw someone on the Bigfooty early phantom have him in the 60s. FWIW Maric was also picked around the 60s as well.

still only 18 - if we picked this guy up in the national draft with a pick in the 20s you'd be pretty happy with the prospect TBH.
Some very good attributes in an athletic package.

What was the reason he wasn’t picked up previously?

Clay Tucker (16 hit-outs, 12 disposals, six intercept possessions, four marks, four tackles)

"Clay returned from his concussion and had to shoulder a fair bit of the ruck in the second half. Max (Ramsden) came out with an ankle injury and Tuck was the sole ruck with a bit of support from Scaife and Daniel Wood but competed really well. It was a really good opportunity for Tuck when he was tired to continue to find a way to push through, which is part of his growth and development at this level because ultimately, you need rucks to be able to play some long minutes at times, which he was required and asked to do. He’s working on what to do when he gets fatigued and making sure he’s really strong in the contest. It was a really positive day for Tuck in regards to taking the number one ruck role.”

His draft write up said this:

"He also does not impact a lot in other [not ruck] positions currently, which is something that clubs will look to work on."

We have played him forward 100% of the time in some games and he's had games where he's had one or two possessions there. Clearly we want to perservere and give him a chance to learn, he's shown enough for his age in the ruck, so I hope he can develop another string to his bow.
