I think if he plays another senior games he is disqualified from Box Hill finals. To me he's better off playing another 8-10 games as the main man for BH than 4-5 as a bit part player for the seniors. It's his first year, he's shown enough to say he will be a good/great 10 year player.
Are you sure? Jonathan Simpkin played 14 senior games in 2013 and played in both VFL and AFL Grand Finals. Frenchy is only on 12.

Unless they've changed the rules more recently?

Competition rules state that players must have featured in six VFL games during that particular season, and played no more than 12 AFL games, to be eligible to play in the VFL finals.

If the AFL team is still playing finals, anyone on the list can still play VFL (e.g. Rioli in that infamous VFL grand final)

+Day, Newcombe.

We really have rebuilt an elite midfield.
Good variety, competitiveness and class among them.
I can't wait until the rest of the team structure comes together and the team matures.
Dynasty incoming...
This will be the 1st time Day, Newcombe, Ward, Mackenzie, Weddle, C Macdonald and Mitchell have all played in the same team together. Exciting group coming through with hopefully another exciting addition coming in November!

Time for his rising star nomination breakout game.

Such a fan of this guy, after a preseason or two he is going to be something else. At his best he adds real zip around the ball, and impacts the game.

It’s mental with him. He looks apprehensive and overly cautious and low on self belief
The player I saw in pre season was quite different.
To me he looks off the pace due to fitness when playing seniors. That’s why he should be our permanent sub at this point in time. Be a lot better than having Blanck as sub 🤦‍♂️

He should just be playing full games out at BHH. He's a mid and he needs minutes in the midfield. We can't give him that at the Seniors yet. To many players ahead of him who need minutes already that they aren't getting (Ward, CMac 1.0).

Let him dominate BHH and have a big finals series for the Stangs. Will go into 2024 preseason with a heap of confidence.

That would do the opposite.

He’ll get confidence by finding his feet at AFL level and being backed in.

Sam didn't back him in for very long today. He gave Frenchy a quarter or so before he was to forced moved Nash back in the middle (which was sorely needed).

We've got so many guys we need to give meaningful CBAs to. I'm hoping to see Ward get a game attending 50-60% or so before the end of the season.

DGB, Ward and Mackenzie all look like they have a while to go.

Hopefully another pre season does the trick, but at the moment it looks like we could have done a fair bit better with our top 10 picks

We desperately need these three to come on next year.

May have had a quieter game yesterday but Wardy's been pretty good since he came back into the side.
