Squiggle tips Saints at 51% chance -- What's your tip? -- Team line-ups »
I thought it he nailed that one he might have been a show for a rising star nomination!Really wish he kicked that third.
Think Moores’ sprints were from coming off & on the ground
Had a lot of efforts that went unrewarded but not unnoticed.Think Moores’ sprints were from coming off & on the ground
Literally what i've said. Zak Butters is a star and it's what Butler is, both move smoothly across the ground, great pace and good users of the footy, really tough and hard at it and yeah perfect.Kingy has likened him to Zack Butters on First Crack tonight. Said we got a draft bargain and will be nominated for the Rising Star in the next 6 weeks.
thats impressive!
Oh, Kingy’s saying something positive about Hawthorn, best we all agree with him this timeKingy has likened him to Zack Butters on First Crack tonight. Said we got a draft bargain and will be nominated for the Rising Star in the next 6 weeks.
He has actually been pretty positive on us this year. Seems to get along well with Sam Mitchell when him and Kane Kornes interview him fortnightly. Understands where we are and is excited by our youf.Oh, Kingy’s saying something positive about Hawthorn, best we all agree with him this time
If we can can get a Butters/Gulden out of Norm/Butler I'll be very happy.Kingy has likened him to Zack Butters on First Crack tonight. Said we got a draft bargain and will be nominated for the Rising Star in the next 6 weeks.
2004 went alright.Going early... we nailed the 2021 draft in a way that I've not seen our club do ever.
I seriously can't remember us getting 4 from 4 to land such high quality players. Have been waiting to see Butler all season, and he's shown a lot in just his second game.
Against the Lions Butler looked like McDonald has all season - just class and composure with the ball in hand.
Has the physical attributes and smarts to ensure that the goals are going to come, along with great strength at a young age to lay a couple of tackles when he needed to.
Such an exciting time for the Hawks, and going to be a lot of fun watching Newcombe, Ward, McDonald and Butler develop together. That's going to be a heck of a midfield core right there.
We didn't have 3 picks inside the top 7 in 2021 though.2004 went alright.

On weight of talent, that's the best draft haul any club ever had at a guess. 2 Coleman winners, 4 time and a 2 time premiership star, multiple club champions etc.2004 went alright.
I'm thinking McKenzie might have to change his last name to MacGyver. At this stage in time it seems all he needs is a toothpick some string and a bottle cap to discover a gem. Seriously though Andy Collins and all the recruiters need their kudos as well.On weight of talent, that's the best draft haul any club ever had at a guess. 2 Coleman winners, 4 time and a 2 time premiership star, multiple club champions etc.
I can't remember us nailing picks like we did last year though, pre-season, mid season, and deep into the main draft. We only had one top ten selection too.
The odds would be pretty long that we'd be staring down the barrel of the quality we have likely got.
Objectively there's a lot of water to go under the bridge, but I believe the signs are there.
4 hard nosed players with elite traits that will just need exposure at the highest level to develop, and another in Bramble who showed last year that his best is upper B grade quality.

No big fan of Geelong but their 2001 haul is hard to beat.On weight of talent, that's the best draft haul any club ever had at a guess. 2 Coleman winners, 4 time premiership stars, club champions etc.

The odds would be pretty long I'd imagine that we unearth talent to the degree it looks like we did last year.

Bartel, Kelly, Stevie J and Ablett Jr is about as good as you can do. Granted they lucked out with Ablett Jr, but he wasn't anything special prior to being drafted.
Similar to us, two drafts was all it took to build an all time great core. Us with 2001 and 2004, them with 1999 and 2001.That one definitely came to mind, but I'd scratched it for the father son.
Absolutely turned that side around in a hurry though, and sadly I saw a lot of it live because family follow their club.
