Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn Tom Scully. Congratulations for finally making it onto an AFL list!

Surely he is just as likely to re-injure his ankle in the VFL as the AFL? I can see a couple of games at Box Hill where they ,manage his TOG, but when he's ready to go he's ready to go! (hopefully!)
It’s not about reinjuring the ankle, it’s about match fitness.

Luke Breust was on RSN this morning, they discussed Scully.
He mentioned the match simulation and how Scully drilled a pass from half back that hit its target and lead to a goal.
The whole playing group got around him.

Breust was very positive without putting a timeline on his return but it is definitely not mid year, way ahead of that schedule.

Thanks for the recap, hopefully it's okay to post the interview here https://player.fm/series/rsn-breakfast-club/luke-breust-hawks-preseason

From Wingard article on Hawks site:
"Breust was very positive without putting a timeline on his (Scully's) return but it is definitely not mid year, way ahead of that schedule
“It was an awesome scene the other day at training when he rolled off the half-back line and then hit a target inside 50 – all the boys erupted,” Breust recounted. "

I like it a lot.

Stupid pay thing
Tom Scully tipped to return around Round 6 for new club Hawthorn
The hard-running wingman has continued to make quicker-than-expected progress in his recovery from a serious ankle injury and, barring any setbacks, will likely make his comeback for Box Hill in the VFL next month.

While the Hawks have not put a timetable on a comeback, the gun midfielder is expected to be in contention for AFL selection by about Round 6.

The Hawks’ gamble could be rewarded. Scully and fellow wingman Isaac Smith have the potential to form a damaging combination on the outside in the second half of the season.

Didn’t I say the Cats game months ago ;)

Some poor besterd on Twitter is already calling for an investigation. This s**t is gonna take off like the #freekickhawthorn rubbish. We're already melting minds. Wait til Chad and Birch return. Mitchell 2nd half of the year. Then we roll out Cogs' signature post season.

Drops mike and walks out.
