Absolutely. If we have to part with any of our best 22 for Charlie Dixon, I don't want him... and this is coming from someone who really, really wants him.

But trading one of our best 22 for him is a nil gain trade.
Nope. If you have a need for a CPF and more than enough flankers / midfielders then trade away !

But if you just get rid of a best 22 player to fill that need, you've just created another hole in the team to fill. It's completely counter-productive. Unless you're talking about trading one of our fringe players, but that's not what I'm saying. I'm talking about trading one of our best 22 like Hartlett or Ebert like some others have suggested.

Trade Ebert and we might as well be Western Power.
Agree. Does anyone ever consider Ebert's positives? He is one of the stronger players you will find in the air and he has more than once saved us by cutting off what could have been an easy opposition intercept and score. For last year he averaged 6 marks a game, a very high average for a midfielder(Justin Westhoff averaged 6.72 this year).

Pick 10.

"He is only a 15 game a year player" - GC

"We are a generous club so we will give you Pick 10 for your crippled player" - PA

This is pretty close to mark for mind also. Without knowing all the facts I would tend to agree, even pick 10 is a risk if indeed Dixons ankles have to be managed and he only plays a handful of games a year.

The same goes for Bennell, the lad is extremely talented but has some serious personal demons to slay. Which ever club he goes to will have a huge challenge on their hands. Port are one of the few clubs that he would possibly thrive at in my opinion. Our culture, our duty of care and the indigenous system we have set up would be of huge benefit, but only if the lad wants to actually change his ways.

Both players are a big risk but with a different slant on each.

Number 10.

Lock it in.
...and Ebert was certainly not the only one whose disposal was poor last year. I personally think his disposal in the 2014 season was excellent and I can't see why he, and the team, can't turn it around in 2016. I think Dixon has been known to shank a few as well.

Jeez Damian Barrett is a flog. via the AFL app and his 'sliding doors' column he has stated;
IF theres one arrangement we don't see working next year.....
THEN ....it is a forward line of Dixon and Schulz.

Does this guy have any clue? two very different forwards one stay at home and one lead up.

Fu** No
Nice to see old mate barrett doesn't have sour grapes over the schulz/freo intrigue.

Damo: 'Schulz is being squeezed out so port can fit dixon into their bursting cap!'

*Shulz Re-signs. There is much rejoicing*

Damo: As if they'll be able to work together anyway. Gosh!
He's a fair dinkum moron. Likes to talk with authority but has none. He's a Muppet who dramatises to justify his existence. Just a Vanilla journo at best.
