I must admit (inb4 unpopular opinions) that I don't actually rate jacko highly as a player, but he is huge as a leader.

I reckon he plays his best footy in the ruck.
He's underrated as a defender. Looks gangly with ball in hand when in actual fact he is a pretty good defender. Cops a bad wrap at times and wasn't right last season.

At peak fitness, he is a fine CHB.

Jacko's fantastic as a defender, definitely underrated. Knows when to spoil and when to mark. The main part that makes him underrated is that he wears his opponent like a glove so well, they don't get the ball kicked to them that often so you don't see Jacko do much in that regard.
He's actually a little overrated in the ruck on the board tbh. He's certainly had some great moments, but his HO to adv % is very low, even for a pinch hitter. Where he makes up for that is his second efforts and getting his hands on the ball at stoppages, but he's one of our worst users of the footy so that's not always the best thing.

Talking to someone at the club, they were saying Charlie has the biggest hands he's ever seen.

Shook his hand and Charlie's grip took hold of half his forearm.

No wonder he has fantastic dukes.
Well...it likely means he has a the biggest third arm in the history of man.

People don't misspell his name as Dickson for no reason.

I'll get my coat.

Also.

I had that strange (no-homo) feeling when I first shook Russell Ebert's hand.

My inner monologue was like.. "wow.. his hands are enormous, no wonder his handball was famed, you know what they say about big hands... wait stop that, let go of his hand you moron"

Jacko's never gonna be AA or anything like that, IMO Carlile and Hombsch are both better footballers, but he's still a perfectly cromulent AFL quality defender and a locked in member of our best 22. He's also the only properly tall defender we have on our list other than Logan Austin, and Logan is a talented kid but at his age he won't be replacing Jacko anytime soon.

He's got that degree of gangliness that just prevents him from moving or kicking well enough to be upper echelon.

I remember seeing a video of him in juniors for Calder/Metro/Australia - pre-final growth spurt - where he moved so fluidly you could absolutely see why he was rated as a blue chip prospect forward, ruck or back.

Had he maxed out at 193-195 he'd have been truly frightening.

He makes the Sherrin look tiny. It's looks like the ball morphs into one of those little McDonald's one's when it gets within 5m of him
