Hindsight is a wonderful thing. But maybe if we planned to use DBJ, Richards and Rioli in the high half forward roles, we either should've drafted someone else or at least, started Berry in SANFL. Personally I was under the impression Rioli was going to be playing closer to goal but doesn't seem to be the case (don't mind what's he's doing atm though!)

I know what you’re saying but I’m not sure it’s mismanagement per se.

Our gameplan relies on 6 or so HFFs and wingers to work up and down the ground. This is very much what we drafted for and played Berry as. I’m just not sure he quite has the tank for it yet.

But I don’t think he is a good sub. Needs time to build into a game, which is hard to do as a sub.

Yep definitely above SANFL for sure, hopefully he won’t be one of those too good for SANFL but not good enough for AFL types.

Needs and extended run in the SANFL, no matter how well he might play just needs a long run of good form before even being considered for AFL selection again.

Kid looks so far off pace. What is his position? Currently in no man's land. I don't want to say its a bust but Murphy Reid looks to be 2-3 times the player Berry is at the moment.

We might have got this one Chance Jones level wrong. Early days but there’s nothing AFL impressive from 7 attempts so far.

I hope his disappointment is because of the coaching succession plan.

Looks threatening when he does get the ball but he has absolutely no idea where to run, space and seemingly no defensive instincts to anticipate where the opposition will go

Exactly. The young man will make it and so will Whitlock. Our issues are not talent based as much as shit coaching. Carr needs to get some decent assistant coaches in and fitness staff. The club needs to wake up and increase the FD spend or forget seriously challenging for @ flag.
