Nope that's his usual run-up. Normally quite accurate though it's all about the ball drop which is fine. It's worked quite reliably for him in the past

Liked it. That was a high stakes, high pressure game. He worked hard, got some important touches, slotted a goal. We under estimate how tough that would be for Cochrane (or any player, let alone a rookie pick who is trying to find his way).

That was an excellent strong mark on the lead. I would bet very few on our side would have actually held onto that.

Gee whiz, Tommy did well but DBJ has been one of our better players in the last 18 months since moving forward. I hated him at HB after the year he won AA but he's crucial for us in the HF line.

Right now, I'd say DBJ is more important to our structure and in better form that Boak. One of our best kicks going inside 50

Yup the hate that DBJ gets on this board is unbelievable. I really do wonder if ppl watch the games with their eyes closed.

It seems a strange play as it seems there is no way for us to get him.

Are we sure both his parents were born in Australia?

It just feels like Port has a play in mind that is more than just hoping he comes back later but I just can't see what the angle is.

I think I read somewhere recently that he was born in Port Lincoln which would put him in the Port NGA zone.

I can't find anything now though.

Does anyone know?

I don't think it works like that for Australian-born. Players have to be residing in their club's zone when they register between ages 11-18. Being born overseas qualifies the player for NGA but the same rule applies.

Really strong mark & he protected it well. Like his attitude & he wants to get involved. Think he become more influential as he adjusts to the quicker pace of Afl. Similar to Francou taking time to adjust when he started.

The play where he keeps the ball alive and tapping it to advantage which set up the Rioli goal is that forward x factor / craft that you cant teach, and why despite not seeming to have any physical advantages could see him carve out a good career.
