Farrell called him a great leader in an interview after the game, I mean I guess it's possible he's good around the club with the younger players not that it warrants selection but it's all I've gleaned lol.

Thought the inclusion as an emergency made perfect sense.

Richards was a late withdrawal. But if he plays, then the emergency doesn’t. So the emergency wouldn’t have played AFL or SANFL. Would you rather Lorenz or Lai or whoever having a trip to Sydney and not playing any footy? Or would you prefer the Rat flying to Sydney to not play but being versatile enough and physically and mentally ready to play if needed?

Now he played a stinker and should only ever be an emergency in a situation like the above.

Also, as much as I didn’t want the Rat and hated him at the crows, he wears the prison bars now. He’s one of us. Get around the guy.

This week he was an emergency. I can understand the logic behind putting someone like Atkins on a plane so a younger player with some potential doesn't risk missing out on gametime entirely if Richards hadn't gotten sick.

It certainly does become a problem if he's named in the 23 next week though. And it's Hinkley, so I fully expect he will be.
