Matt White and we will want plenty of speed on the wing to give Georgiades and Lukosius a chance 1v1.

Wouldn't be surprised if he gets his first game before Whitlock, Moraes, Barrett.
I hope we see the return of the over the back kick out with Lai running onto it.

Was a sight to behold with Matty White.

We can call it a Lai Back.

He definitely looks to have AFL attributes in abundance: size, speed, footskills, good overhead etc. Buf I am cautious because unlike players who have come through the usual pathways leading to the draft who have dreamt of playing AFL football virtually all their lives and are prepared to go to a different state to do so, this young man was plucked from the obscurity of suburban footy. When it wasn't your dream to play at the elite level to begin with, will you have that burning desire to keep going week in week out, year in year out away from your home against players who are machines compared to your average ammo player just wanting to have a kick for fun and to keep fit?

In his interview Lai mentioned he wanted to play at AFL level and get drafted but in year 12 he had a foot injury keeping him sidelined for most of the year. Below is an extract from his interview. He definitely has a "burning desire".

Josh Lai on whether he thought he had any chance of playing AFL:
“It's always been what I wanted to do. But yeah, I guess, especially in year 12 after getting injured and missing the whole year, footy probably felt a bit out of reach. But I guess I just going back and kept playing, and I guess, you know, I was lucky enough for people to notice.”

I like the idea of Robbie taking on some kind of Johnny Appleseed myth where he goes around local footy games finding stars.

As per Twomey, Lai was first viewed by Brett Anderson and Parker.
Robbie Gray discovered Russell Ebert. He also met John Abley at the Adelaide train station and whisked him away to Alberton before the glenelg delegation arrived

Anderson is the 1 recruiter I have big faith in , loved him on sen and our drafting got a lot better once he joined

“Josh (Lai) was fantastic. He's got great aerial abilities, and he’s a super explosive and powerful player. And he shows up with his speed in his legs. And he can also get up and take a good high grab as well. So he showed some really promising signs again,” Hartlett said.

This guy reminds me of Rayner in his power through the core.
Has serious wheels and exceptional agility. He’s also got strong hands and a great leap. Credit to the club for spotting this fella.
He can play either end and it won’t surprise me to see him in the midfield at some point.
Timmy G said during the commentary last night that he expects him to debut this season and I totally agree.

Wow. We could have 5 players debuting from this year's draft. It's too early to call but on potential, we could be in for quite a haul.
