I have really liked what the club has done with these SSP lists or whatever they are called because they have their eyes on a few kids but get to them close up for the preseason training and it just makes the decision better and easier.

To hear he has only recently moved to footy full time makes me hope that he's really impressed in a really short time and we've picked up a diamond in the rough. Hopefully he is more of a finisher than a defensive forward.
That caught my attention too. I think he said he was a late bloomer, "only taking AFL seriously 2 years ago." Only started to focus on the wafl in his draft year, and in his words "was a fair way off at that point."

So for him to progress this fast indicates that his ceiling is potentially some way off.

Hopefully in years to come we are all going ... "Jaidyn who?"

Both interviews were terrific. I really love the blend of personal footy confidence and genuine humbleness. Very obvious both lads were from the country and are good people.
There appears to be a lot of upside to both lads. Wish them all the best.

“I haven’t really had time even to think about this possibility..”

Ummm…. the kid’s been a train on candidate for 3 months. What the f*** did he think he was doing here? You're not here to **** spiders.

But I know what he meant- he didn’t want to think about it in case it didn’t happen. Well son, it just did. Congratulations, welcome and now it begins.

Impressive highlights. Didn't really see the speed he spoke of in the highlights but a very balanced and neat player. Reminds me of Shaun Mannagh who we were after before Geelong drafted him. We were after Richards too before Collingwood drafted him so now we have both.

I can definitely see a bit of Shaun Mannagh in those highlights too. Hopefully a similar low risk high reward pick up for us.

Still wish we'd taken Stephenson but to be fair to Mitch this is a bloody good highlights package.

Yeah, he really knows how to find space in the forward line and snap truly. Hopefully he can translate it to AFL level.

Usually a highlights package is hard to get excited by but that's fantastic.

I like to see two-sided players, it should be a prerequisite for being a professional footballer. From those highlights, his left foot is for balance only.

Hard unit too by the looks. Did enjoy the clip where he snapped a snag and someone's sternum simultaneously.
Yeah, that was favourite highlight, kicking a goal and downing a defender.

And how about that bloke who gets it on the lead, sees a bloke in the goal square without a guy within 40 metres and takes it back for a set shot. John Cahill would've kicked him out of the country for that.

Just going by what I’ve seen on the reel posted he looks like someone Geelong would pick up.
He’s got that zippy movement around the forward line, that’s a trait with all good Geelong smaller types.
Definitely worth a go for sure.
I thought that as well. But it might've been the similarity of guernseys.

Strongly disagree, apart from perhaps a defensive forward who will get more opportunistic chances (and is porpbably not a great kick in the first place hence their role).

being the bestyou can on one foot beats being good on both.
