Player Watch #5 Jack Ross

Recruiters must have discounted him based on him not being selected for the Champs, and perceived limited upside due to being a manchild.

Suckers.
Hopefully recruiters keep being suckers so we can keep getting players of Ross’ and Stack’s caliber more or less for free. :D

Remember the bad old days when we would pick lumbering dinosaurs or outside players that couldn't kick. Yet in the same drafts teams like the Swans would pick up Parker with a pick in the 40s.
Love what the recruiting team are doing these days

Lol. You do have a good eye, did you have this guy on your radar?

He was doing all the right things under 16s appears it was injuries that set him back.

Recruiters discounted him because his natural game was somewhat to play behind the ball. His will to work into our backline I think has been a real win for the side and is a good trait which probably won't see him hit the scoreboard as often as most midfielders.

Ross doesn't stress or panic because he paints and draws stuff. It must be his secret to remaining calm on field.

Like that dude in titanic he didn’t panic when the boat was sinking cause he drew that pick of broads mrs after the granny

Happy for us to keep on racking up the overlooked man-children and reaping the benefits.

both graham and ross will be just fine. Graham just needs to work on his form a bit, no doubt he'll come back into the 1's. What is a bit concerning is they are both very similar players so im not sure there is room for both in the team tbh, atleast when cotchin is back.

Ross might be Graham's best friend. Jack, Graham that is, has a defensive mid role. I reckon Jack, Ross that is, might free him from that.

Two strong inside contested beasts would be nice. Free Cotch up to tear teams apart.

completely different players IMO, Graham is an in and under player who goes to ground , doesn't break from a lot of tackles and due to size often releases a little to early .
Ross is a bigger bodied mid who often finds the footy whilst standing, rarely goes to ground and has the great ability to draw players to him before releasing which allows him to give the footy to players in space.
I think clubs will start to play off Ross rather than getting drawn to him and he'll need to find a way through that.
Whilst Graham needs to work on his outside game and work into space , rather than being a see ball get ball player , which will allow him to get more of the footy , be more damaging and force clubs to start going to him which will fall into his hands. In 2017 he was finding space and hitting the scoreboard.
Interestingly I think if Lambert can regain his 2017 / 2018 form and Cotchin can return in reasonable shape , the form of these two and bellis will sky rocket.
