Not sure what you saw.. I saw a guy in one final kick all four of his teams first four goals, then set up their fifth ... i.e. play a one man show to keep his team in the game, which they went on to win.

I also saw speed, agility, goal sense, good kicking and more importantly, the ability to read the ball off the boot faster than the opponent and get to the drop.

He does look very small and light. Lets hope he can become a Charlie Cameron/Bobby Hill/Shai Bolton type.

Fingers crossed mate. Maybe I'm just tired.

Hopefully we spoke to him prior to drafting to get the feel of his mood moving to Melbourne, is a real talent looking at his highlights reminds me a little of Charlie Cameron if he stays we might have a real steal on our hands.

I'm not overly impressed with those, to put it kindly. I'm not seeing good ball use, by hand or foot. And dropping chest marks is an instant turn off for me. But anyway I hope he does well and works it out at Sandy. Seems like another Peris but gets more ball.
Each to their own. I see a real live wire forward.

I saw pace and raw power. Goal sense.

A player kicking them on the finals stage and a kid with a very small frame and ultimately all that that talent in a very raw package.

Will need time. But if we get it right. We have a massive potential winner here

Loving that we are backing in our culture to keep a clearly talented kid. The turnaround this club has had behind the scenes since moving back to Moorabbin has been wonderful to see as an outsider.

Hes only been an adult for a few months. Of course he's going to want to stay close to family. Mason, Bradley, Henry and everyone else will all do their best to make Lance feel at home here.

Highlights look nice, personally I think it's very early in the draft to take a small forward but I guess he was the best option we saw there. Goal for 2024 is to get the kid settled and see him find his feet at VFL level - a few of the bigger lads need to protect him against some of the less talented VFL players who like pushing the light-bodied kids around.

Flight risk?

There's absolutely no risk about it.

He CAN fly

+1.

Basically if he doesn’t stay with our support network then we can’t really say we didn’t try.

Not sure if Nathan Lovett-Murray is still our indigenous officer but him & Alan Murray will also help.
Posted this to some on PM

Same with Naz, he was homesick, but after a year felt happy and relaxed.
We have Naz, Brad Hill, Henry and Aunty Katrina to help him along. Even get Mason Wood involved he seems like a great role model and helped Naz a bunch.

Let's not forget the Best Clubman Award winning Tom Campbell :) #culture

It should help having cousin Brad around.
I think Lovett-Murray, Alan Murray and Aunty Katrina are still working in welfare at the club for the indigenous players, we also have Brad Hill, Liam Henry (who selected to move the Melbourne) and NAZ who has experienced homesickness, was set to leave (except his father told him to be a man and do his two years) and now is settled and has extended his contract.

So much support for the lad at the club. We need to back ourselves in to settle the young man. And if it doesn't work, it is nobody's fault especially young Collard's.
Life is more important than footy.

lots of credit to Mason, He's done an enormous ammount of work. Who would have thought 4 years ago we'd be saying how thankful to Mason Wood we are.
