Interesting thing from those highlights is that he seems to be comfortable kicking on either foot which I wouldn't have expected given the wrap on his kicking. He is going to definitely add some danger in our forward line which is something we have not really had for a while in the smalls department.

Also, it's a bit pipe dream but you would love to be able to also pick up Liam Ryan and have those two in a forward line together with Hipwood wouldn't you?

Yep give me some of that.
He's that player that can turn a game and thats just his tackling pressure acts.
I can't wait to see him put a tackle on an opposition player that used to stroll out of our attacking fifty and you guessed it CHARLIE tackles him and Hipwood scores. Glory days here we come.

If you look at it this way, it seems like a good deal.

A 23 year old with huge upside who wants to be here (Charlie) in for Hanley who looks well past his best and wanted out.

Trade period is over and what's done is done. We have a new player that's going to be a GUN!

Would have preferred to pick him up next year for close to nothing. Having said that, he fills a need for us and has the potential to be a 2 goal a game small forward. If this happens, one would probably look back at this trade as a win. Time will tell.
