There was definitely traits of his game last year that pointed towards him being an inside midfielder in the long term. Was very composed in traffic and just looked like he had a frame that would allow him to put on a lot of muscle

I could never expect to see him performing so well in that position this early in his career. Seems to have it all, fantastic prospect

Granted I post a lot of incomprehensible nonsense on these boards, but every now and then I nail one from a long way out.

August 2024.

I think this guys ceiling is much higher than playing at half back or on the wing. I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility that he finds a place as a starting mid wrecking ball. Especially after Treloar hangs up the boots. The idea of a future that has him and Richards punching away from centre bounces is tantalising.

The bloke is 98% Bont, must have a basketball background. His tap-ons, flick passes, basketball bounces off the deck, hunched shoulders, looks slow off the mark but appears to glide straight and past through oppo effortlessly, it’s uncanny!

Our father son program might only be exceeded by our secret cloning program.
They took the dashing good looks of Libba and combined it with the silkyness of Bont to produce, BontJr, or as I like to now call him, BoJu

What's surprised me the most is how good his hands are in close. He had a few handballs last night that were so quick they looked like throws, very Libba-like. Which is crucial to becoming an inside mid. He had a game high 9 clearances last night and game high 4 center clearances.

He's got a combination of Libba's hands, Bont's size and kicking and Ed Richard's running capacity. His potential is seriously limitless.

Ping Pong is the new basketball.

Like when Pendlebury and the Bont burst on the scene and commentators brought yp their basketball backgrounds on every ****ing occasion.

I expect that in ten years that the same hacks will be talking about gun recruits and their Ping Pong prowess.

Remember when Bob Murphy wrote a very humorous piece about the table tennis tournament at the Dogs? Jack Macrae and Bailey Dale played off, irrc. Zaine Cordy finished well too.

Maybe Bob could get one going again, now that he's back.

Edit: No, it was Tory!

Freijah’s early impact on us reminds me a little of Selwood's impact on Geelong.

Selwood brought a very hard and disciplined edge to a talented team that needed it. Worked out well for them.

Pendlebury has a basketball background?

No way....what? Somebody tell Hamish McLachlan.
