Josie Fielding said:
The Brisbane Lions have signed unrestricted free agent Cam Ellis-Yolmen.

The 26-year-old, 191cm midfielder arrives at the Lions after spending eight years at the Crows, where he played 39 games.

Ellis-Yolmen said he is excited by the change and move to Brisbane.

“The Lions have had a lot of success this year, which has been exciting to watch,” he said.

“Looking in from the outside, they seem to have a good culture, which I can’t wait to be a part of.

“I know quite a few people at the Club already, so I feel like I will have a good support network around me.

“In terms of footy, I want to gain as much experience as I can and play as many games as possible in 2020.”

In 2019 Ellis-Yolmen played 10 AFL games for the Crows and averaged 23.5 disposals and 5.5 tackles per game.

General Manager of Football David Noble said the big-bodied midfielder will be a good fit for the team.

“He’s matured as an individual and we believe he is ready to go to the next level in his footballing career.

“Cam will help bring more physicality to our game as he is strong and holds his ground well.

“His addition will help strengthen our midfield.”

Ellis-Yolmen will move to Brisbane in mid-November.

Good to have you in the den. But be prepared to train harder than you ever have before. The young blokes here will push you harder n further than you have been. Get your body right, train hard and i cant wait to see the influence you will have on our team.

Most AFL players can kick and handball both sides of the body, but usually one side is preferred.
One thing Nobel mentioned today about CEY is he kicks with his right foot but handballs with his left hand.
One thing not mentioned is he bounces the ball also with his left hand. These combinations are unusual and together with his size and ability should make a good addition to our midfield.

Hopefully our medical team can get his body right. His best year for number of games played was 15 in 2018 with 10 played last year until he missed from round 15 onward with a shin related injury.
Just watched a 2016 in house Crows video where he was referred to as "Curley", Wonder if he keeps that or our boys stick him with a new nickname.

Sure that wasn't Curly Hampton?

Wonder if he will explode as a player like Charlie Cameron on coming to an evironment where he feels he will be happier. Sounds like he just wanted to get out of Adelaide so how could he play anywhere near his best football.

New recruits do blossom at your club and Fagan has been exceptional in making it a destination club.

Will see you next year in finals no doubt.

captainrich - At the very beginning of interview she calls him "curley". It was his first game back from an ACL round 20, 2016 being a win over the Lions.
He played well as did all of Adelaide. Final score Adelaide 177 to Lions 39. Yikes
Link if interested.
