Snapped a few goals in play, which is good to see. A couple of solid marks as well.
This might just be me but I always felt Corbett was slightly too short to play as a key forward when we needed him to. I remember watching Corbo play in one of the QClashes and at one point it was just him and Harris Andrews one-on-one in the goal square. You could quite clearly see Corbo was just giving up too much height to be competitive against what was most likely the premier key defender in the league at the time. Add a few more centimetres and who knows but 190cm just seemed slightly too short at the AFL level. Hopefully McLaughlin's 193cm frame can overcome that issue if required.Taller than Corbo too! Lovely.
I just love stories like this, you work so hard for many years, not knowing if it'll ever eventuate, especially once you get to 25 you would start to wonder. But he never gave up, which is power to him.
And he's needed it too; he's overcome a broken leg, a nerve problem in his hip and a broken shoulder blade in the past few years to make it this far.
