I only just heard him speak last night. Sounds a ripper bloke. I was jealous of Adelaide having this guy for a while and am so glad for him to be a Sun. Super awesome acquisition from onfield perspective and he is just a great dude.

Love Hugh as do most Crows. Seems a great guy. GC should get him doing as much media as possible. Hoped he would be next generation of leaders at Crows with Doedee but maybe unrealistic at his age. Difficult to think of a player who leaves with such unfettered good wishes. His insta post on leaving even shows how genuine he is about being thankful for chance as compared to Keath say whose more seemed going through the motions.
Ferocious tackler in close, moves out of traffic superbly and takes great marks at big moments. Only downer has been his tank which has never been AFL standard. If he gets a full preseason in (massive IF, he never has done at Crows), he could win B&F.

I would expect him not having a good tank yet after only 4 preseasons interrupted by injuries. Our Fiorini was 4 years in a system like Hugh and also struggled a bit in his first full season this year or players like Ainsworth, Bowes, Brodie with 3 preseasons. What were his injuries? Abdominal strain?
Was abdominal this year yes. Can't think of previously. He seemed to think working with Steve Saunders was sorting him out (after disastrous fitness regime before - see B Crouch too) and would be better in future.
Had foot surgery - some pain around achilles in 2017.

What people have to understand is he's a professional sportsman coming into the latter part of his playing career & who has never really been paid a big salary. He hasn't made big money in basketball or footy so far. It is perfectly understandable that he'd want a secure wage for his last few years as a player.
