Toast Welcome to the SUNS - Jez McLennan

Just reading a little into Jez's background, his father grew up in Warwick (2.5 hours west of the Gold Coast in the Southern Downs region past the Scenic Rim) and was a talented cricketer who represented the region. Jez's grandparents still live in Warwick and his cousins/uncle/aunty live on the Gold Coast so it would appear he has plenty of family within driving distance of the Gold Coast. Obviously this bodes well for us in terms of retention and Jez's keen interest in surfing is another itch we can scratch. Perhaps his direct family will relocate here too ala the Weller family.

If we can't recruit Queenslanders, then recruiting talented players with Queensland connections is the next best thing in terms of retention.

Can we claim Jez as a Queenslander in terms of his player origin then ...???
If so - Queensland 13 - SA 11 :D

On a more serious note - List management needs a pat on the back for going the extra yard to ensure this kid got to us... that background says he could be a one club player with us.....and he's an U18 All Australian to boot !

Any chance he’s another Will Brodie? Shut out by Dew but an AFL level talent.

Yeah I think that is what I was after
'Brodie' Potential players on our list still that could be good to excellent players on other teams are Fiorini, Corbett, Sharp, Burgess and Bowes

None of those we delisted ever really showed much even at VFL level

Matt Conroy is as good as Max Gawn
