Always said the best player I've seen that hasn't won a brownlow, deserves it a lot specially after coming close so many times

Suspect I would have been largely indifferent to it much as I am now.

It's a shitty situation and I think the AFL would have been better to not award a medal as there will always be a qualification of sorts to Mitchell (and cot chins) status as a Brownlow medallist until he wins it in 2017

That said he deserves it for the career he's had to date although my opinion of him as a class footballer will be unchanged

The best part of this for me is the Freo supporters losing their shit over it - not just because they hate Mitchell but their saltiness over Eagles supporters joking we've got another Brownlow winner
