I thought he was decent regarding the circumstances. It must be extremely hard for a debutant to go from a glorified training run to playing AFL footy against a midfield of Taranto/cogs/Kelly. Will get better with more games.

I thought he acquitted himself very well yesterday. Liked his work ethic but was even more impressed with his poise.

Hand up I thought we reached for him when we drafted him, but that said he was at least a genuine midfielder. Also he plays both inside and outside roles.

Players who can Play both roles to a high standard and are as rare as rocking horse s**t.

Looks like we may have found a goodun with XON.

Early days but yesterday’s debut showed a lot of promise and was very encouraging.

Umm excuuuuuuuuuuuuse me.
XON cannot yet lay claim to ownership of the best meme on this board.
Until he takes over the great & well-respected #7 he cannot be jubilant.

Maybe he can have Xtatic XONs instead?

I remember when this board was moaning that we didn't take the other Xavier - O'Halloran - at the time.

Nothing wrong with Xavier O'Halloran as a player and he would be pushing up to in our team , he sure as hell would be a quantum upgrade on Ainsworth and Brayshaw as our depth mids.

O'Halloran has a list of A grade and several quality B grade midfielders ahead of him in the depth chart:

Conigilo, Kelly, Ward, Taranto, Hooper, Caldwell, Green, Perryman, De Boer.
What an absolute embarrassment of midfield riches, GWS have on their list.

Either of O'Halloran or Hately would be a very welcome addition to our list.

Thought he was good yesterday.

It's obvious the can handle the pace of AFL and yesterday was a high standard to measure that against.

Also clearly has the know how.

Think he has a lot of potential.

Theres not many of our mids who would have a) tried or b) hit that kick to ryan in the last quarter. Promising stuff

He was taken before our picks anyway, so the other poster has it all wrong.
