Why aren't we talking about Tom.

Unbelievable.
Totally agree
Tom had his best game today, his groundwork and workrate was epic.
Today I saw why we chased Tom and why he was highly sort after.
I gave him 3 votes today and loved seeing him play further up the ground and he so damaging.

Tame Lanch was unreal today. Interesting to see the haters have disappeared all of a sudden? Nothing to say chaps?

I said he was good today multiple times in the game thread, it's not about being a hater. When players are s**t i'll say they are s**t and when they are good i'll give them props

The way it’s going it’s only gonna be another year and a half and he will have won more games with us than he did in 8 years at GC.
It’s damning of that club when you think of that and the amount of talent that has simply walked from that club.
Nevermind all the talent that was wasted in the twos that never got developed.
And still they ask for more handouts.
Bloody hopeless.

What is really exciting is the partnership. You know it’s looking beastly when Davis is grabbing at the Forward giving away a free kick.
It’s really gonna test defenses now covering Tom and Jack. Who is Ports second tall defender? Clury will have to take Tom. Who gets Jack?

Great game.

What I saw on TV was pretty much Tom as clear No. 1 KPF and Jack working into the spaces around Tom. Which I reckon plays to the strengths of both. Tome can do that lead, run jump, hit packs role. Jack can be where the opposition don't want him to be, crumb, and add that extra to the forward line. Really nice. And take that extra man off Tom and he'll be awesome even if not 100%. And then that means Jack cannot be double teamed. As long as we lower our eyes going forward we are likely to have 2 targets, one of which is 1 on 1.

And then our medium and smaller forwards are good marks. If the Tom Jack show can get going we'll be such a better team.

Yeah I highlighted that exact bit of play on the half time podcast yesterday.

Having Jack and Tom in the same forward 50 is going to create a lot of issues for opposition defenders.

Prior to Jack being in the team, Phil Davis comes across 3rd man up and kills that contest.

But with Jack and Tom there the defenders ability to peel off in anticipation is basically gone because you simply can't afford to leave 1 of them free.

If we can tweak our game style ever so slightly to get the ball inside 50 a bit quicker when they both have 1 v 1 contests it will be very exciting.

I loved how happy they were for each other though. Sounds stupid but sometimes there is the risk of ego's clashing with 2 good forwards, but they were all over each other when they were kicked goals, great to see!

Anyone see that play on the wing in the, I think, the second quarter?

I remember thinking please don’t f this up as we were running down the wing, then someone fumbled it towards the boundary line, Tom picked it up cleanly and kicked it inside 50. It was an absolutely beautiful kick inside 50 and resulted in a mark and goal I think. It wasn’t the one in the first quarter, it was definitely while we were kicking towards the punt road end.

Agree. Where i was a bit frustrated was we had Tom or Jack one out in an open forward line to bomb it into them deep, and we flick 2-3 handballs around and allow the defence to flood in. I reckon give Jack and Tom more one on one opportunities. If we are 70m out and it’s a 1 v 1, get it in there.
