He seems to have more skill/work ethic/whatever than guys like Bird or Jetta did when they started in their first round at the club.

I meant that he won't be a Round 1, 2012 starter...My guess is a Hanneberry-esque Round 2 or Round 3 after a couple of awesome NEAFL showings. And yes, I agree, but he'll need to show he can tackle and make it stick.

Bird played Round 1 2008 and Jetta played Round 1 2010. And when did Jetta show he can tackle and make it stick?

Mitchell is an outside player, he doesn't need to get in and under.

Those are some rather impressive stats for his first game back (even discounting that they are still really good).

Does anyone know when Foxsports will broadcast the NAB Under 18 Championship games? I know they do that once a year when all the teams play at Edihad in a single day but i don't know when this is happening?

I ask because i have never actually seen Mitchell play and i am really looking forward to that.

My son went and watched the match, I asked him to keep an eye on Mitchell...he said he didn't see him! God I hope the opposition coaches make the same observations...probably not!

Just saw that this Wednesday there's coverage of the WA-SA game, I assume that's the one where Mitchell got 28 and not a new game?

He played Vic Country last week for his 28 possies. These are the last games of the championships and are televised.

It'll definitely be interesting because Mitchell IS a Swan in all senses of the term, so it'll be cool to watch him. Normally I'll have a bit of a look for a couple of minutes, but not knowing the players, not even knowing who to pay attention to as to who will be at the Swans the next year isn't too good.

Yeah and Mitchell has class, something we need to compliment our in and unders. But generally with draft watching you look for positional needs of the team eg we need a full back to replace c bolton. So look for a gap and watch players who fill it

Tom Mitchell – 9/10 – First game after coming back from injury and you could have never noticed him gone, absolutely dominated the 1st half but went quiet in the 2nd. Great run and carry, awareness it all class, and his skills were too good.

Thanks for the link. I am just guessing here but i am willing to bet Mitchell went quiet in the second half because due to his long term injury his fitness isn't up to the level where he can run out a full game.
