I am happy the AFL are assesing this case by case otherwise teams could take advantage for example a team could hire multiple players parents to be talent scouts when in reality they know little about the game or overpay them for the job they are doing. If a parent friend or family member is qualified for the role and pay on offer then there is no problem the way i see it.

Our situation is alot like Melbourne's where Viney's dad already works at Melbourne and his son will after the next draft. I cannot see it being an issue if Barry Mitchell would become an assistant coach with us as he already has experience with Fremantle.

How is Tom tracking for his AFL debut? Will it even be this year that he plays or does he look a year away?

I think the upcoming games against GWS or Brisbane would be a good time to try him out if circumstances allowed it.

Knee Tendonitis or some such, so will be out for a couple weeks while he gets it under wraps. Looking amazing in the ressies from all reports, but needs to get his body right. At this stage I'd say late next year for a debut if he can get his body right.

Shame really was carving up
