My gaming group is right into Formula D - we are doing a Championship, so far 3 races in.

Axis & Allies is also a favourite of the group.

What's Rallyman GT like?

I actually meant to say Rallyman Dirt sorry. Rallyman GT is the new game that I’m hoping to get for Xmas. Dirt is a fantastic solo game. Excellent mechanics. I’m part of a Facebook group that does a championship amongst members on certain tracks based on the real life WRC.

I’ve heard about Flamme Rouge and heard good things. Have you played it? Can you play solo?

Thanks
Love it. We play a full Grand Tour over the course of the TdF every year with the full complement of players and it is excellent fun over the journey with the scoring system in that mode.

You can play solo, with a rule set that has two "bot" teams in the mix and I believe someone has put together house rules on one of the forums which is cool.

Which Detective? There’s quite a few with that in the title. Detective A modern crime board game? Have that one and done once with just wife and myself. Let’s just say we aren’t cut out to be cops. Need to do again, we bombed badly
I have the first one. Really enjoyed. But failed hard!!!

Three small quick games (10-20 minutes) ordered via Kickstarter by the wife arrived this week - GPS, Sequoa and Mountain Goats. Good to be getting a few more light games to balance all the bigger campaign / legacy games that have been getting lately. On a busy day sometimes just want something can do without all the major setup or time investment.

Wife’s birthday today, she asked my folks to get her Isle of Cats (my present is Kickstarter so another post date present for one of us). As no cat of our own we’ll see Sunday when next game day at friend with two cats (one of which never appears), how many tries it takes before we complete the setup step of placing cat in box, with obligatory photo.

Have you played Undaunted Normandy?

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
No, I always passed over it because I figured my wife wouldn't be into the theme and my gaming group is usually her, myself, a cousin and a friend. 2P games generally just get to the table when it is her and I.

I watched a few playthroughs of Normandy and then the new edition and decided I'd just grab it and give it a go. Looks like there's enough to get us both interested.

Christmas gift arrival update (seriously don’t get anywhere near this number of games at other times. Between Christmas and wife’s birthday just before Christmas it’s when we get most of the games for a year).

A Christmas gift to ourselves - Stop the Train! Arrived from Kickstarter. Was a December estimate so glad it arrived this month. Hidden traitor mechanic is one of the 4-6 players is trying to get the train to Paris during the 2nd World War, the rest to stop it.

The other one arrived is for youngest son whose a Steven Universe fan. We’ll ensure both kids have a few board games of their own for when they eventually leave home. #geekparentgoals

I'm interested in either/both myself, hence the question - be keen to get some feedback from someone who's played it.

Some great titles there.

I'm looking to back Everdell, Heroes of Normandy and have chucked $1 on Zombice Undead or Alive. There's a few still on the way as well, I think I'll need a new bookshelf.

A couple of recent Kickstarter arrivals.
Tiny Epic Pirates. Set up ready to play (when have the time!).

Escape the Night. Yet to punch it all out.

Received Tiny Epic Pirates the other day. Got the maxed out, deluxified version and think they’d have been better off just making this one a big box experience with chunky pieces etc!

Rule book is a little under written, but the game mechanic works well and it makes for good fun. Pick up and deliver + combat, has a bit of something for everyone.
