A double celebration this week.

Garry Hocking plays game number 250

Tim McGrath plays game number 200

2 absolute champions of the Geelong Football Club who can never ever be called soft. (Despite the whole Whiskas thing)

Well done Bluey especially after being rejected by North after 12 games in 3 years and having 20 goals kicked on you in your first 2 games at Geelong. (Dunstall 12, Jakovich 8)

And Buddha, the guttsiest, team orientated player in the history of the club, 4 Best and Fairests make you the ultimate champ.

You're a thug, but we love you.

GO CATS

GoCatsGo, I'm with you on that one. Congratulations to Hocking and McGrath on their milestones. I've always enjoyed watching the way that Hocking plays his footy (okay, slight lie because he was best on ground vs North 5 games in a row in the late 90s and picked up 15 Brownlow votes for his efforts)...always doing the hard stuff beneath the packs. As for McGrath (who was released pre-Pagan), Denis Pagan once said of him, "I don't know why North let him go because I wouldn't have done so".

Buddha seems ageless to me.

Every year, he just keeps on going, never going downhill, but keeping on performing at his excellent level.

He "seems" to have been the same age forever !

Every season seems to be the same. He will ALWAYS be among the possession leaders, but he won't have the "most". And he will always poll "about" 16 votes in the Brownlow medal, but he won't win it. It's a credit to his consistency that he can keep performing like that.

I don't know of any other AFL player like that. Other players (even Carey and Hird), have very "different" season, from one season to another, but Buddha just keeps on performing exactly the same every year.

It just seems as if he has been around forever and ever. He is the only player who seems to have been 30 years old for his entire career. Actally, he's 31 now, but that's beside the point.

Well done Buddha.

Yes well done to both guys a credit to the jumper. Hocking one of the best onballers of the last 20 years (many a time he's given our guys a football lesson) and McGrath is one of the few guys who can claim to have beaten Carey more than once, he can tell the grand-kids about it.

Congratulations fellas.

Congratulations to these two guys on reaching these milestones.

Hocking is a true champion & one of those players which every team craves. Hard as nails & gets heaps of the footy.

Along with Kelly from the swans he is one of those guys that every time I see him play I wish he was playing for us.

You can add Mark Bickley's name alongside Hocking and Kelly. That man is always under the packs and doing the little things that allow the artists like McLeod and Jarman to flourish. He must be the most low profile and underrated captains in the AFL, but he deserves every little bit of recognition he gets.
