Geelong, VIC. (Is Don Is Grand)
Well folks that's it for another H&A season or for Dan "The Premier League" (looks like he's won over "Mike the Magnificent" check out his article in the "Bogun Bugle" today), I just want to make a few acknowledgments.

Firstly well done Bomber Thompson and the Cats, whatever happens from now on they've done great considering the pre-season upheavals, Coach & Captain gone (just hope for Colberts effort they finish above the Roos in the finals), Massive Debt. Bomber Thompson has to be the best coach of 2000, barring Sheeds. Looks like he's got Sheed's best trait, positive thinking, without the eccentricity. Also the ringing up of members on the way to training, was a master stroke.

Bad luck to firstly the Swans, came home like a steam train but no cigar. BSA that third quarter against the Roos first time around, must really hurt now looking back, the guys had them on toast. Looks "Goode" for '01 though. So too the Tigers, who will get have the recruit of the year next year (Richo) and if they have half the injuries they had this year, will make the top 4 next year.

Lastly just a note on the Bombers fine effort for 2000 in the H&A (has to be done). The most wins ever, is a great achievment, only an 11 point loss to the Doggies stopping a perfect record. I like our "Bradmanesque" final percentage too - 159.1

, just short of the 160. But as our president "Big Mac" points out "we've done absolutley nothing if we don't go on to win it, fom here".

Now for the "Big Stuff" and my prediction: I've changed my mind over the last couple of weeks, Ess. V Melb. Grand Final and of course the Dons to win.

Cheers,

BOMBER BLITZ IN 2000!

Thanks Ricey

We had a good, fun time of it down at Shell Stadium on Saturday. Pity we couldn't win it and so finish 11-11 (like last year) but hey, we ceretainly gave Geelong a good hard warm up for the finals, probably just what the doctor ordered for the Cats I thnk.

Its not just our Round 5 effort against the Kangaroos that rankles. Check ot some of our other disasters this season.

Round 4 : lost to Collingwood on the last kick after failing miserably to man-up on that last, crucial kick in by Collingwood.

Round 6 : Went to sleep against Richmond after leading 22 points in 2nd quarter.

Round 11 : Let a totally un-deserving Brisbane stel the points after leading by 33 at halftime.

Round 14 : In Essendon's face all day, only to lose after we let James Hird cruise around the forward lines unmarked for the last quarter.

Round 15 : Didn't come to play against Fremantle, then when did decide to play - couldn't kick straight.

We finished off the season in blistering form and I guess the finalists are all breathing a sigh of relief we didn't make it - but hey, at the end of the day it goes down as a pretty typical season from the AFLs perrenial 'thereabouters'

Thank's Rice.

We've had a great season now lets just hope we can get over the Hawks this week and then come up against the Roos in the second week.

Wouldn't be wonderful to knock them out.

Bomber Thompson IS the best coach going around. Sheedy has the cattle, Bomber doesn't as yet.

Idiots have been writing that we are chokers all year, but surely that tag must really belong to Richmond. They choke in every game they have to win to make the finals. 94 96 98 and 2000. Heh Heh. And they have made the finals now once in the last twenty years. Equal to Port Adelaide.

They must be the chokers of the century.

I wouldn't say chokers of the century. Maybe over the last 20 years (apart from 1995).They've won about 11 premierships in the last century. Essendon only 12. I call that equal.
