In what will go down as one of the greatest wins against the enemy i just want to say a big thanks to collingwood.
You did us all proud yesterday and to come back the way you did with minutes remaining is a gentle reminder to all that collingwood has arrived.

well done collingwood that wasa thucken beauty.

woo - hoo

top effort by Collingwood yesterday.

Although their record is not as good as this time last year, I don't think anyone whos watched them would say they are heading for another mid-season slump. Its just not gonna happen this year folks.

Collingwood seem to be made of sterner stuff this year, and will continue to win games all the way through June, July, - and beyond.

cheers and conradulations joffa

Excellent work, Pies. Pretty impressive win loss ratio too, considering you've already played Essendon, Hawthorn, Richmond and Carlton. There's no reason why you can't be at least 9-6 after 15 rounds now, possibly even better. I din't have you in my final eight at the start of the year, but I'm starting to turn my thinking around on that. Keep it up.

Just a regulation win against the Scum! Slacked off a bit to let them have a sniff, but our far superior heart saw us fend off the challenge.

Joffa's speech with Billy Brownless at three quarter time was instrumental in our win.

BTW Joffa, what the hell were you doing drinking Coke?????

I hope you are right, but with people like Dunstall 19 and Easty, it would not surprise me if they still think we will be no good at the end of the year.

Play on says the umpire

It was a fantastic game - but they gave me a bit of a fright in the last quarter! I thought the old and fat blueboys were going to run over the top of the younger and faster pies - fortunately, that was not to be!
BTW, what did you all think of the umpiring? I reckon they have absolutely no idea. Carlton got five frees (possibly 2 legitimate frees) in front of goal (and three goals resulted), we received one free on the wing for a push in the back that should definitely have gone Carlton's way and why, when Rice hit Holland, didn't he get reported or even a 50 metre penalty against him?

not only does the AFL equalisation policy include getting first round picks, compensation picks and a salary cap- it also extends to giving Collingwood sympathetic umpires in an attempt to get them over the line whenever possible. Luckily Essendon managed to beat both Collingwood AND the umps- bet the AFL was mighty pissed off with that one.

Too bad for Carlton though.

The substance abuse around here is getting beyond control!

Frees: Collingwood 22, Carlton 21.

Considering we dominated the game for at least two and a half quarters and considering Carlton had several goals from (dubious) free kicks, it is clear that Carlton had the better run from the umpires yesterday. In fact they kept Carlton in the game by awarding a number of free kicks in their attaking 50!

As for concessional draft picks, we only had one and wasted it on a guy that assured Mark Porter got a medal for best on ground (despite the fact Buckley is head and shoulders above any player in the competition), in Stunning Steve McKee!

BTW Arch you clown, EVERY team gets a first round draft pick!!!

I see your Buckley bias is alive and well. Porter was the dominant player on the ground and almost single handedly sparked the Blues to life in the last quarter after keeping them in it all day.

Since when the free kick tally show who get the favourite treatment? It doesn't have to be a lopsided for inconsistencies to happen. Collingwood clearly had the best of the 50-50 decisions. Also, 2nd 1/4, Kouta marks, gets cleaned up after holding the one grab mark, takes it almost to ground before losing it....the result? Play on, Pies take it up the other end to goal! Kouta takes another mark just above the ground on the defensive 50. Pies tackle him...play on! Luckily the Pies didn't goal. Last 1/4 .... Campo passes to McKay inside 50, he gets caught waiting to give the ball back to Campo who was being held out of the play ... the result? Holding the ball, Pies free! Just keeps on going. They umpired to the crowd, I have no doubt!

Despite that, the Blues did not gel for most of the match and probably deserved to get punished for it.

For the usual ignorant suspects to come out and heap shit on the Blues, just consider how the Pies almost stopped dead in the glare of headlights for the second week in a row. Didn't look anywhere near as good as the week before! Lucky you had the 10 day rest, I think.

I don't mind the Pies and have generally been respectful to most of the fans since I have been here but frankly, half of you are brain dead losers. The exceptions know who they are.

That alleged mark by Koutafaeces was about as convincing as Ablett's so-called "mark" over Gary Pert. Complete bollocks.

If you don't HOLD the f*cken mark, it shouldn't be paid.

SIMPLE.

Interesting comment from Blood-stained Angel:

"You didn't win - they won - you watched"

That's where you're sadly mistaken, BSA. Maybe up in Sydney that might be what you do. I don't know.

But at Collingwood, this year, we've given up spectating.

Spectating is for theatre-goers.

If I want to "watch" a game of football ... the best place to do that is in my living room in front of the TV.

You're normally spot on about most things, BSA. But that little comment just shows that you know nothing whatsoever about Collingwood or the people that support Collingwood.

Sure, we've still got a lot of "spectators" among our supporters. But there's a few of us around The Club doing everything within our power to eradicate the spectator ethic from the terraces.

A loud passionate crowd does make a difference. Whether you win, lose or draw ... what happens on the terraces is every bit as important to a club as what happens on the field.

Look, you could put together a team of the best big name players you can get your hands on ... and they might make a brilliant team that wins every match they play by 20 goals. But if their supporters are cardboard cut-outs who just sit there and WATCH, they would be as boring as bat-shit. I would hate to support a club that had only theatre-goers for supporters. No matter how good a team they might have.

A football club is as much its supporters as its players and officials ... probably more so, in fact.

When Collingwood wins, I win.
When Collingwood wins, every Collingwood supporter wins.
Because we ARE Collingwood. We don't just WATCH Collingwood.

We ARE Collingwood.

And BSA, when Sydney wins a match, if you don't feel as though YOU've won that match ... then I really feel sorry for you. Because you're missing something. Maybe you should move to a real city and support a real Club.
