That pretty much sums up the South Australian ethos to AFL football barracking it seems, doesn't it? "You suck, we beat you, ******** off home!"

And I thought West Coast fans were bad. As uppity as they are, at least they are not verbally and physically aggressive like you lot.

No wonder Adelaide is the murder capital of Australia, LOTS OF ANGRY FERALS!

JF

Physically aggressive? Where did you pull that one from? Again, you are just another Swans fan angry about the loss and taking your frustration out on other people. In this case, you are taking your frustration out on the team that beat you, and trying to payout South Australians in the process. You have lost the 4 points. Move on.

I think WC are still hot favourite, with Sydney and St Kilda equal chances to tip them. The rest are gone.

So if Adelaide finish second and have two home finals you seriously think they will blow it??

Sydney dont have the runners to match Adelaide in a shootout and last night they couldnt shut us down playing their flood and man on man game especially with Adelaide coming off a tough game the week before on the Telstra Dome.

We'll see come finals time, dont go hiding now will you !!!!

Adelaide V top 8 teams

AAMI Adelaide 7.11 (53) West Coast 9.10 (64) L-11
AAMI Adelaide 10.14 (74) Kangaroos 10.4 (64) W-10
AAMI Adelaide 8.15 (63) Bris Lions 11.6 (72) L-9
AAMI Adelaide 14.10 (94) Fremantle 14.4 (88) W-6
AAMI Adelaide 8.6 (54) Sydney 6.11 (47) W-7

The way I see it is if you go to aami and score 64 points or more..you've got a 60% chance that Adelaide will score less than you. 75 points or more.. 80%.

What team wouldn't like those odds?

The last time I looked, two teams actualy help make a dour defensive match. Adelaide were as much to blame for its dour nature as we were. They played with a loose man in defence for much of the night and often only had 2-4 players in their attacking 50.

JF
Yeah, but why does it always seem to happen in matches Sydney plays in? I'll tell you: because Sydney have 15 of their players follow the ball for the whole game. If you don't man up they control all the stoppages. Sydney forces eams to do it.

Adelaide, whilst not a super attacking team, aren't negative either. Sydney forced them into that style of game like they do most weeks of the year.

Thats nice. We have 36. ;)

OMG yeah that is right, those SANFL premierships really mean something dont they

I bet half of the football supporters in victoria wouldnt even know half of the SANFL teams. Before Port entered the AFL noone cared about them or had the slightest interest in them just the same as the SANFL.

This is what I love certain dumb port supporters, they are that stupid that they think that the SANFL was the equal of the VFL/AFL this is the biggest laugh of all time. If it is the same standard why did Port bother to pay $4 million to join and have wanted to join for the last 15+ years.

Face it those SANFL premierships dont mean anything anymore they never have/will/never did outside of SA. Trying to live off them is a joke and an absolute insult to the intelligent Port Adelaide supporters that understand that the SANFL has never been the same as the VFL. The VFL has always been the higher standard football why do you think all of the SA players went over there to play ??? Why else did Bradley, Kernahan and co go over there ??? Face it you won premierships and many of those when the SANFL was clearly by far a second rate competition. Dont try and MASSIVELY overinflate some premierships that are now worthless outside the SANFL. Noone cares about it and it has no significance what so ever to the AFL.

Time to come up with a better argument.

for you info

VFL=AFL it is not two separate leagues, another dumb statment from Port supporters. They claim that Port Power and the original magpies are the same but claim the VFL and AFL are different

go figure :D

but, those two losses were earlier this year before Adelaide were really playing decent football. I mean how bad were the Saints earlier this year, dont go taking a one sided view on things. Keep in mind that those losses were very early in the season and we have won 8 out of our last 9 games many of those being away games.

Your form earlier this year was also far from stellar. Keep in mind that we have defeated you twice and Saturday night I honestly believe that you did everything but hurt us on the scoreboard.

With your away form being patchy, whos to say you will bring your A grade game with you again next time

If you think that was a good crowd I would hate to go to a quiet crowd at AAMI. Come to think of it anytime the home team is behind the crowd goes dead quiet. They only make noise after they kick a goal. Why are alot of people saying this if it isn't true?

Better than having an empty stadium when we are losing. You can talk crowd noise whatever but when your mob is losing your supporters decide not to turn up, you cant accuse Adelaide supporters of doing that.

O.k Crows does ;) Hey you think us Port fans arn't sick of you idiots still harping on about your 97 and 98 premierships.

Well at least we arent harping on about insignificant premierships. Port have won 1 AFL flag the rest dont matter. Its like someone comparing a high school certificate with a UNI degree.

100% spot on mate. However us getting the chants going obviously endeared ourselves to the locals to the point that one of our Melbourne-based CS members was kindly donated a near full bottle of coke, at quick velocity too.

JF

Does your melbourne based squad still have a rivarly with the sydney based one. Last time I was in Melbourne and went to a Swans game V Essendon on a Friday night (maybe 92??) the Melbourne squad refused to chant Sydney and refused to have anything to do with the Sydney based squad.

Alleluia. That's it in a nutshell.

I'm not saying we didn't contribute to the dour spectacle, and it's a credit to the Swans that they were able to make us play the game on their terms- we simply weren't good enough to break free from the shackles for all but 5 mins in the third- but we generally like to play on, take risks and play attacking football for most of the game.

However, Sydney performed very well and simply would not allow us to do that.

Seriously, do you ever stop complaining? Anything else wrong ? Grass to long? seats at the wrong angle? As for physically agressive, I asked a red coat if there was any trouble near the Sydney cheersquad and was told in no uncertain fashion that there was not. And that as per usual they watch opposition cheer squads closely as they have not always acted as angelic as they try to make themselve out to be. So basically you are full off it.

Sometimes we have to lower our standards & speak with a tongue that people like yourself are familiar with, otherwise you would never take a hint.

How long did PP & JF take to come up with your original post ??

Back to the drawing board for you guys. ;)

I did last year, when it held it's first ever AFL prelim final.

Is that what you are hanging your hat on now. First SA team to play a home prelim. final - sad, very sad. You could always use "first team to finish top 3 years in a row but yet win only one premiership" - that would be some sort of record surely?

I trust that you reported this.....if it really happened. If it did happen it's a disgrace, if it didn't then you are. Wouldn't be the first fabricated claim to be aimed our way. Cups of urine anyone?

Friday, May 20
Adelaide 15.13 (103)
St Kilda 8.9 (57)

46 points, and that was at Telstra Dome.
Irrelevant, I think the Saints are a far tougher proposition now than they were then and remember they came very close to causing another choke for PorT at AAMI last year. I think the Saints are a bigger danger than the Eagles.

I think the Saints will be very tough, but the Crows should nevertheless win.

It is funny, but on this board the Crows actual form is always said to be irrelevant. I wonder why that is?

There is even a thread about finals "shaping up nicely" that seems to be all about inventing different ways that the Crows will not make the GF.

Probably hard to split Adelaide, North, Sydney and the Saints, despite results in recent weeks. Reality is, all 4 should be a good chance come September if they are swithced on.

Fair point too, but looking at the Saints now they have their big guns all back and firing and will be very hard to stop. I like our chances in the finals as we have shown the adaptability to either be full on attack or win ugly when required. This means that we will measure up well against any opposition and I still think we have plenty of improvement in us yet.

Yes, Crows winning 6 in a row and 10 out of 11 have all been down to luck

Beatin your mob twice and 6 out of the last 7 must also have been luck.

Give me a break.

Crows should be second favourites. Wehther they win is entirely a different thing but to say they are gone is nothing short of stupid.

Ordinary behaviour by fans if all what you have said is true

Problem is they are not used to opposition supporters.

Personally I love a bit of a verbal stoush, but there's no need to get physical with bottles etc.

As far as the game goes - winners are grinners.

When it comes to crowd support, neither Adelaide or Sydney supporters have much to hang their hat on.

Both Footy Park and the SCG can get pretty quiet during a game, but I think it's got more to do with a lack of opposition supporters to help create an atmosphere, rather than some inherrent flaw in Crows and Swans fans.

As for the game, well I think we were pretty lucky to escape with the four points but I'll take them! I personally thought it was a great contest, not all good games of football nedd 35+ goals to make it a spectacle.
