Pretty crummy game skills wise, lots of errors, but a good game none thel ess. A good effort by Richmond. They thumped them in the end.
Richardson was great, as was Rogers...the defence stood up really well as well. Was pretty weak by West Coast to get back in the game then whimper out again.

The umpiring was a disgrace. 26 frees to West Coast...12 to richmond!!! Humphrey Smith is by far the worst umpire in the league. He has no idea. Not only is he completly bias...he cant bounce the ball either. I counted the frees he gave...12 to West Coast, 2 to Richmond, plus 3 50m penalties. He also called Dragicevic for holding the ball in West Coasts forward lien in the 3rd...with no prior oppurtunity...same thing happened a few moments later, same umpire, no free kick!
Was also sad to see Aaron Fiora go down with what looks to be a bad shoulder injury. He is an ex Port Player so i wish him well.
Anyway well done Richmond...they look in good form this year!

Didn't think the umpiring was too bad really, but it'll be interesting to hear Frodo's take on it.

The biggest shocker from the men in white was the out-of-bounds that was waaaaay over the line, and wasn't picked up, and resulted in a Wilson shot for goal (which he missed).

Macca, I could not agree more about the umpiring. What was that umpire on?

My Tv almost copped it because of the idiots in white.

Tigers were well worth the win. Eagles second to the ball all night. What a nightmare to find MacIntosh out and Carrol on Richardson

I agree about the umpiring, it was apalling.
Tigers are a very tall side. Wet weather may weaken them but tonight they were far too strong for the Eagles.

Well for the first footy match I went to for season 2001 it was a pretty ordinary affair.

Well done to Richmond though, I was barracking for them anyway, but I wonder if Richmond were that good or West Coast that bad? Macca, have to agree about the umpiring, the decisions that were made had me bamboozled.

I'm wondering about the standard of AFL at times. Perhaps I'm biased but I've seen better SANFL games.

Might see you at Alberton in 2 weeks, looking for a repeat of last year. I haven't seen a win there since 1983.

I thought the umpiring was reasonable, but in the end you guys were just too tall in the forward line. I think the game would have been a lot different though if McIntosh would have played.

Bring on the Dons i say

The umpring was a ****ing disgrace last night...26 to 12 was pathetic..Richardson was being held all ****ing night and the pathetic 50 metre penalties that were given against richo were shockong...Wirrupunda was all over hilton and he got penalised for deliberate out of bounds..That resulted in 2 west coast goals...In the end we won which was good..A fantastic team effort last night..The next 2 weeks is the biggest test which should prove where we are at...

you are right it was the one umpire really,
seriously picked on richo too it seemed, early on in the game - but it made no difference in the long run !
easily the tigers best performance for the year - i thought it was a high standard game.
WC were just let down by being a few quality players short on the night, and the tigers by a couple of 'collapses' wherein the opposition scored quickly and easily, and somewhat unexpectedly...

The umpiring was bad but the free kick count was nothing to do with it. There were bad decisions and a heap of missed decisions all round. Richo bad mouthed the umpires all game. Do that and you can expect 50's against you.
