I'd just like to open this post by saying well done to your supporters and football club. You guys really put up a big fight and had Skilled Stadium really rocking.

What a fantastic atmosphere it was! Well dont to all the Saints supporters that made the trip down. The ones who were around me were really good - never complained, cheered on their team well and gave credit when it was due for Geelong... and going on bigfooty this afternoon I would like to commend you all for taking the loss so well :)

It was a great old surburban atmosphere - great for heritage round! I am really, really pleased with my Cats, and I have also found new appreciation for your club as well. You've shared the tears over the years just like us [if not more] and its great to see your club having a bit of success now. You never gave up today, but there had to be a loser. We have been on the back of losses like that ourselves against Port Adelaide and Sydney both interstate - when we've lost both by small margins after giving our all, so I know how it feels.

I wish your club all the best for the coming rounds and the finals. The competition you gave us today is worthy of a finals match, and as I've said, we've both suffered over the years and nobody deserves success as much as us.

Once again, cheers Saints - great game. :)

...and we'll probably see you guys again this year

Yeah, the atmosphere was electric - even on TV.

But yeah, we might meet you again later this year. Hopefully at the Telstra Dome :D

Good game fellas, top stuff by both sides and a contest that could have gone either way. Look forward to many more contests like today's in the upcoming years.

The AFL said that there will be no finals matches played at the telstra dome :(

Yeah, come finals time, we would have only played three games at the MCG since 2002! (two last year, one this year)

well we've only played about 5 at the G since 2002 ourselves...

but yeah about yesterday's game...i am VERY VERY proud of my Sainters. at the start of the game...in that first quarter we looked gone..we were chiping the ball and got our only two goals from free kicks. We looked uneasy. Then the margin blew out to 36 points in the 2nd quarter and i was saying "one more goal and im not watching this". But we got back to take the lead at half time...amazing. With the home crowd, the cats were always going to come home strong, so i was expecting it to be hard for us. but we kept at it, and never fell away for one second from the 15 minute mark of the 2nd quarter until full time.

If there was such thing as an honourable loss, this was it. When the final siren went, i knew we had regained our form and we were BACK! this was despite the loss, and for the first time in my life, i was actually very happy for the Cats, in what was a thrilling game, to come out on top at home, they were great scenes to watch, because even though we lost, we played at a venue the brisbane lions even lost at (albeit in much less wind and rain :))

Looking forward to beating the crows next week:D THE SAINTERS ARE BACK!

I think it was a great game, and probably just behind saints v brions this season as one of the most brilliant games of the season.

tackling, skills, goals, marks, spoils all at the best level.

I don't think my heart and blood pressure are going to survive if I have to watch too many more games like that.

i think it would have been good for footy if the saints won though:D
