Yes what a great win by the Swans...havent had the chance to post any victories but great all round effort!

Dunkley was supurb on Kouta. Schwass was perfect as usual (except for the first goal) Look out for tadg kenelly..he is going to be a superstar. Played well for his first game.

Well if we don't make the finals at least we have knocked over The pies, The Blues and flogged the roos.

If only we could get in the way of the bombers.

GO SYDNEY!!

Bah well done to the cats as well.

GO SWANS!!!!

Great win. Really gutsy win, too. I have never seen Sydney chase, tackle and apply pressure as much as they did against Carlton today. If Carlton had've won the match they would have been very lucky. Sydney nearly kicked themselves out of it; They had 10 more scoring shots.

Yes kicking is of most worrying.

Thats the thing about Sydney...against the top sides they apply that pressure and are hard at the ball. But we play a middle and bottom end team and we some how go down to there standards..it's hard to fathom as a swans supporter.

I though Ball was great in the 2nd Half and is no doubt our first ruckman now. Stafford was used well today in Short spells.

And that youg Irish kid played well too.

Great to see!! Good for footy!!

Tadg Kennely

Will be a superstar i think..he is so keen, it's what we need more of down at the swans.

He kicked 2 beauty's to a leading micky.

Apparantly he was a superstar in the Gaelic League at just 17 and comes from a pedigree of champs. His dad was a star in the Gaelic League. He left all that to play with the swans and in the AFL.

Hats off to the kid.

Tagdh Kenelley was also offered over 2 million pounds to play soccer for Blackburn Rovers.

Glasgow Celtic were interested in him at one stage as well.

He turned down millions to play soccer to come to Australia and play Aussie Rules for the Swans because he

'didn't much care for the game' (soccer, that is)

says it all really

cheers

Gee that sucked....:( :( :( - bloody awful. Well done swans, it should have been about 6 goals. I couldn't believe we were still within a kick near the siren. Why couldn't you have played the way you did against Geelong last week?

We looked so damn short without Silvagni and Whitnall...it's a real worry. No one could take a contested mark. Lance may be out for a month :( :( :(

Its amazing how things change within a week!

Yeah it is amazing....after our performance against the cats I was tipping at least the blues to go up by 6 goals.

Instead we should have won by at least 6 goals. We haven't got the forwards that can take grabs and kick goals. Gee's our tagger Jared crouch scored 2 rare goals!

Yeah you missed Silvani and whitnall for sure. Who knows the impact he would have made across CF as there is no such position at the SCG. He would have had a field day!

Would you say Dunks did a great job on kouta? As soon as Dunks came off with a bloodied nose kouta took a leading mark and I think it resulted in a Carlton goal. As JD said yesterday during the telecast, kouta should have made dunks work harder with leads than the body on body stuff. If it's one thing Dunks can't handle is fast leading forwards.

My question is why WE couldn't play like this last week against the cats!

And the other question is can you play like that next week against the Hawks? I hope not, although because it's a different ground it may be a different game plan from you guys.

Still, good win...and how is Glenn Manton still getting a game?

If Hawthorn use the same game plan they have been using all year then it will be a scrappy defensive game. After watching the Hawk v Lions game i noticed that both the Swans and The Hawks are similiar in style. Except we played Essendon earlier and got demoralised and exposed as you guys did a few rounds later! ;P

So for the fans sake i hope either Schwab or Eade uses something differant.

We havent got the proper forward setup to play direct footy.

I agree...I was thinking after the Brisbane game the Hawks-Swans game could be a 0-0 draw, with both teams flooding the back line to such an extent the game would just turn into a game of kick to kick!!!!!

But I think Hawthorn should win providing they attack the ball like Saturday and keep moving the ball quickly. But it will be interesting, Sydney have been struggling to find goal kickers all season, and Hawthorn are missing Rehn, O'Farrell, Holland and possibly Barker.

Well done on your win, Swans. Enjoy it while you can, because I don't see a great deal of joy coming your way at Finals time.

And if Ball is now your first ruckman......well, see above. Nice lad, no footy sense.

Well he is doing more than our other ruckman Stafford is doing. Our other choice Doyle is injured. Goodes is tpoo good of a player to be used as ruck.

So far when eade puts him in the ruck, ball has done well. Yesterday he took some marks that i didnt think he was capable of..shame it takes him 3 weeks to have a good game and then drop off for another 2.

I don't expect the swans to make the finals this year with our current list. But as long as we beat the Roos, pies and the blues..2001 has been ok.

hahaha no :D

Really i am glad we beat the pies and the roos only..as i consider Carlton my second team and used to support them as a kid until i was converted to the swans after they came up to Sydney. But it was still a great win yesterday.

Memo to the blues...Your always welcomed to play at the SCG!

:p

The question is where is that intensity every week?

The Swans actually took some marks in the forward 50 for a change. Sure they couldn't kick goals from a set shot (haven't had any practice!) but at least they took the marks.

I reckon Jason Ball has been one of our more consistent performers this year after an ordinary start. His effort, at least, has been there.

yeah I agree

Not only has Jason Ball done a terrific job as a stand-in ruckman whilst Doyle is injured and Stafford can't decide whether he wants ton play AFL football or not, but geez it was great to see him grab some marks (contested ones too !) inside the 50m arc.

Ball has been a consistent performer for us this year and yesterday would have been his best game yet in 2 seasons with thye Swans.

cheers

Yeah i agree. Except he has gone missing in the past 2 outings against the tigers and cats. Both gmaes that our first ruckman failed.

I think Ball will be used in the ruck for the rest of the year. He doesnt cut it as a full forward. Can't take those marks.

It was only a matter of time before you had a dig at soccer.

Was that 2 million pounds the trasfer fee or his actual salary.

Thats ok..the Swans have a few ex soccer stars who were good at youth level. Mathew Nicks apparantly was an upcoming star in Soccer before he switched over, same as Adam Goodes.

Sometimes you can notice the soccer come out in Goodes..against Port Adelaide he handballed across the face of goal to Micky who kicked it through like a striker..i think adam thought he was playing soccer and went for a soccer type play..lucky for us it worked and look good!
