from what they said on the radio and the stats i read through, it looked as though it was easily his best game for us.

I will be watching him with interest later on tonight.

Yeah Williams held down quite a few marks tonight. What happened to Cummings and Gardiner tonight, barely heard anything about either of them. Boy, Maccas absence killed us and even though Carroll tried hard be needs to get a lot stronger in his upper body to compete with the strong forwards. Shows how much we need to develop a good backman or recruit a young talent. I hope Travis Gaspar can fill that role or potentially even Embly.

Scotty did an ankle 10mins into first quarter. 38000+ at Subi and I got in just before bouncedown.....Aggggghhhh no Milli and Caroll on Richardson. The die was cast. Judgey, yer a w***er. Tigers are a tall side. You can't lose Milli and bring in half pint Harding (who did well when brought on). We were a tall man short and they crucified us. We were second to the ball and both Carrol and Collica were crap.

Good points were Joey, Williams and Prior. Gardy had a poor night. Kempy looked unfit. Merenda was injured again.

But in reality we lost it in the first quarter when Carrol was given a bath.

Oh,,,and Wirra should be moved out of defence. He ball watches and lets his man get into free space far too many times

Frodo,

I was disappointed too. The boys werent quite right tonight - too few contributors. Phil was great although his couple of early misses were costly. Andy Williams put in a great game and held a lot of strong marks - kept us in it to some degree in the mid part of the game,

I got all excited at 3/4 time but unfortunately the couldnt lift that extra notch. I thought Gardy was reasonable - at least he tried a bit. Our kicking at goal and fiedl kicking was terrible and the tigers made us pay...

Williams was pretty good for us tonight bringing down 13 marks, with almost all of them been contested. Hopefully he will become more consistent this year and provide a target at CHF. Flanker mainly but a target is a target.

Frodo i agree with Wirrpunda. He is awesome in defence and is great at rebound footy but his opponent always finds space and kicks goals. I think keeping him in defence is the right move but dont give him an opponent, let him be a loose man in defence. He would give any teams headaches if he was allowed to roam around in defence not having to worry about his opponent.

Use the force Luke ....

I've alsways said give KJ a chance to prove hiself, but last night he proved that he is a crap coach. After 3 quarters gardiner had no impact on the game at CHF, why the hell wasn't he switched back to ruck? I know Cox was doing a reasonable job, but i would rather see Gardiner in the ruck as he would do an even better job.

Wilson was getting beaten on the forward line by gaspar and kellaway, and we were missing tall players in defense, why wasn't he switched to defense? We all know he played the bulk of his games in defense, he only got switched forward last year.

Why did KJ persist with flooding our forward line with 4 forwards at all times? Phil matera could of taken any opponent 1 on 1 and easily won. Richmond could of had a silvagni and 1-on-1 he would of been beaten by joey.

If we were definately going to be beaten in defense, isn't it logical to put the best players into attack and hope to out score richmond? With McIntosh out we had no hope of restricting the tiger forwards.

And has anyone else noticed that the eagles can't mark? Everytime the ball was kicked into attack our players found themselves so far under the ball that their opponents took uncontested marks. And when they were close enough to mark it they always were beaten by an opponent, usually standing behind them. Only players who can mark are Wirrpunda, Jakovich and williams. Wilson fumbles a lot and cummings is a no hope at marking above his head.

Ohhh, and williams played a great game. Best onfield for us.

I complained a bit, but KJ has real problems as we have to face essendon(MCG), Port(Subi) and Hawthorn(MCG) next. We are likely to walk away with a four game losing streak after that.

While i was at the game last night, i thought the main faults in our game were:

- kick outs are a big task for us, for richmoind it was easy

- we got killed in the midfield all game

- the skills of the team were horrible.,we turned it over about 1000 times

thats all i can think of for now

as I've said in a previous post, the Eagles skills, particularly in the opening quarter, made the Little League look like AFL superstars. All the positives we had from the end of the Sydney game, the wins against Saints and Dockers, were thrown away by a team thats was very flat, and seemed to lack spirit. Our backline was definately too short and I was not happy at all with many of KJ's decisions. Now for Essendon and Port, my prediction if we don't learn from this is a 2 - 5 start to the year.

Why does Judge often start Williams on the bench too? Thats another pet peeve of mine - this guy had a great game against St Kilda and should be a certain starter in the half forward line!
