When does College Basketball start?? I caught St MAry's on their Australian pre-season tour... would love to catch a game there!!

Ha, I just bought tickets to GSW vs Detroit the other day!

Also got tickets to Patriots @ Jets, Panthers @ 49ers, Heat @ Brooklyn (preseason), and possibly going in a corporate box for Grizz @ Lakers...

So yeah, safe to say I'm excited.

Looking like we can get the Encore for just under $2k... might be a goer I think.

The good stuff doesn't start until the new year unfortunately

My first Vegas trip was during march madness and it was insane over there

As for the pools it can be a problem. You can visit pool clubs no problem (encore beach club, rehab etc) but just for lounging around the general pool you need a hotel room key for that hotel

That has convinced me now!!

See you there:D
Not every day you get to see the greatest shooter of all time in person! Was stoked when our dates worked out for some Steph Curry action. Oracle arena seems relatively cheap compared to some of the others too.

Leaning towards the MGM now.. less than half the price of the Encore, and really we are there to get loose, not sleep.

I would do MGM over Encore, just for the value.

I was there last year and the casino was undergoing some renovations which should be done by now.

MGM is nice and close for PH, The Cosmopolitan & Aria which are all awesome place.

The Pleasure Pit at PH is not a bad place to go:)

Aria Poker Room is fantastic:thumbsu:

And yeah, Steph Curry & Andrew Bogut are an awesome incentive to get to the Oracle Arena. Wont be playing there the next time I go to San Fran, so a real must do. Prices are only a fraction of LA games, and I have done those before, so GSW will be sensational.

Im there in about 7 weeks or so with some friends, no poker just punting and drinking

7 days total probably staying at the MGM as well because one of the guys host works there now

Was supposed to be in Vegas for Halloween, and other parts of the US for the first half of November, but things are looking shaky now with my travel partners. Will still aim to get to LV at that time though, even if I have to travel on my Pat Malone.

I agree with Judds about it being tricky to get a room for 3 ppl (that doesn't involve any of them sharing a bed, using a roll-away or $pending a heap). I was looking for me and my 2 mates and was coming up empty.

MEL-LAX return flights booked for late October. Catching a ride to Vegas with a friend and possibly jagging free accomodation via her dad.

Bloody Qantas though. No longer is seat selection gratis. $25 per flight for the pleasure. I did use the points + pay option so I guess I can 'splurge' on not getting landed with a middle seat. Even so. :(

What was also annoying, although all my own fault, was that two days earlier I could have gotten the same flights for ~$200 less (prior to points + pay) ... just didn't have time to complete the booking at that point.

I've never had any complaints with Qantas in the past, so have been happy enough to stick with them. Admittedly most of my o/s travel has been to the US, so options are somewhat limited (if you don't want to add half a day to your flight to go via China).

Another day, another Qantas story in the news:

http://m.theaustralian.com.au/busin...-air-catastrophe/story-e6frg95x-1226723989452

It's been many years since I regarded Qantas as a company I trust or respect.

to be fair this was the air traffic controllers problem

good work by the qantas pilots to avoid each other, but this couldve been any brand of airliner

flying with virgin in a couple of weeks for my trip, first time with them so it will be interesting to see how it goes

You will be impressed with Virgin JuddsABlue Have flown over every time except for one QANTAS ride, and I would fly Virgin every single time. Don't care about price differences.

39 days to go!!

I was looking at the All Vegas Poker website last night and was intrigued to see the selection of daily tournies at Strip venues had changed somewhat since I was there a couple of years ago. Even the Venetian and Wynn had (at least what I perceive as) well-structured events in my price range (<$200), which certainly wasn't the case in previous visits.

Leaving tomorrow morning, 7 nights at the MGM with mates, no poker just boozing and gambling

Will shoot some pics if theres anything worth it

Got back yesterday

Had a blast but busted my ankle while over there which was a bit annoying

MGM was better than I thought, but probs won't go back there with so many other options

No poker because I was there with a bunch of mates who don't play poker so it would be pretty anti social to just grind for the week

Plus I was more focused on drinking and pits etc but unfortunately didn't book any profits

I had read that the MGM poker room had been moved from its usual spot near the sports book. I now see its been shoved off to the side somewhat; almost as an afterthought.
My poker, and other gambling endeavors, this trip came to nought. At least Paris, PH and Hooters give you the opportunity to lose money to scantily-clad buxom hotties (ie. the dealers).
