It was my kids first Anzac Day game! There was no better place to be on earth.

Top game, the players went hard until the siren. Very, very intense viewing. Sorry there couldn't be 2 winners. Both teams can hold their heads high.

Today proves that Anzac day footy belongs only to the Bombers and Pies. Great game, great spirit but my overall emotion is Phew!

Was a really high-quality viewing game, I thought, considering it was played in the freezing cold and rain. Both sides threw themselves in without regard for their safety. A fitting effort by both teams on the occasion and one that could easily have gone either way.

In response to media muppets maybe we could play Western Bulldogs v North Melbourne on Anzac Day at 6pm.

I think it would get outrated (TV) and outattended by the Storm v Warriors "true Anzac" match.

I respect Essendon because like us by and large they see internal improvement as a method to progression rather than paying big money for star players, or deliberately rorting a system for an outcome (e.g Carlton with Judd, salary cap routing breaches, tanking for 3 x #1 picks)

I can see the Bombers have built from ground level, and like us, you will have your downs on the rise up when you do this, but it builds a platform for sustainable success, rather than the more yo-yo nature using the draft that some clubs (St Kilda, Western Bulldogs, Melbourne) have tended to go for. Not surprising these 3 teams have not won a flag in 40+ years.

Well deserved win. Sat with my two shattered kids at the end and told them that if we'd won it would have been a steal. Pies were much cleaner around the clearances during the match and that I thought, along with Cloke being a huge target up forward, was the difference.

Sat in the AFL members amongst supporters from both sides and said to my (Collingwood supporting) mate how good it was that we could all sit together through a match like that.

Impressed with Maxwell's speech at the end. Class.
