Did we learn anything after last weeks defeat. We still dont man up, our ruckmen are hopeless,we cant hit a target when clear, drop our heads when things go wrong etc etc.
Once again McKernan and Colbert were useless and once again the only positives were Harris and Rocca.

Is it just me or does it seem that the team is quiet out on the field these days? I didn't see any of our players talking/encouraging each other, there didn't seem to be any sledging of the opposition....seems that there's a leadership vacuum out there.....they just look really flat.

There's really not much you can say.

C'mon, lets be positive!!!
We lost the first few games last year and the year before.
Nothing to worry about yet!!

We were just poor. Harris is the only player in the team with decent skills, as well as D. Smith. Even under pressure he can pinpoint someone.
Stevens, Blekay and Simpson all try hard but their disposal is sub standard.
Lindsay Smith and Jones must join Carey and Harvey next week. Burton and Petrie were hopeless (Petrie didn't get much of a run), with probably Motlop and Sinclair to be dropped as well.
Hopefully with a revitalised team, we can start something.

Shinboners,

The umpires won the pyschological warfare game. I am not surprised our players are not talking/sledging out on the ground. They are making sure they are not reported. As for our performance, it leaves alot to be desired. We are going through a rough patch at the moment. The problem is more complex than picking out one or two players and giving them the blame.

Last year West Coast and Melbourne played almost unbelievable footy against us in the first two rounds, kicked goals out of their arses and were incredibly accurate and ,in the Eagles case, played way above their capabilities. I don't even think Essendon or Brisbane looked all that good against us for a lot of the game, they both made their share of mistakes and fumbles ,but were under no pressure at any time so the inevitable floodgates opened. It's most unfortunate that, with key players missing, our other leaders seem to be out of form and incapable of "stepping up".

Hmmmmmm
Yes we lost games early in previous years but we were never defeated the same way as we have been in the past 2 games. We gave up without a yelp, the last 4 games we played (not ansett cup) we have been slaughted. We used to be hard at it now we look soft.

Funny really how once the 'Bombers' were once labelled "soft" which shook the foundations at Windy Hill, if I recall, Timmy 'I can't coach' Watson, opened his BIG MOUTH to say that 'North personell' had described the Bombers...well, now the shoe is on the other foot and I reckon it's time to push that 'word' within the player ranks at Arden Street. It wouldn't surprise me if it's gonna most likely be the stinging word that Pagan will put across in his media statement come Monday night.
