Are we all done now ? Is it over ? I really don't like this period .. suddenly you realise that the player/club dance ( not forgetting the managers ) is the other game in town. Fans don't have the luxury or the inclination of changing clubs - we invest alot of emotion in the squad and now .. well, it's not like they go 'missing in action' .. rather they fight for the other side, so it makes it tough. Losing Jarrad was hard and I really felt for him sitting on the bench in the GF with his head in his hands.

So I can now watch my GF DVD and contemplate the future. I reckon our squad is still pretty good - generally an era lasts 5 years so 1999,2000, ... and I can't wait for them to REALLY hit their straps in 2003.

Still Team of the Century.

Won't be over till 2pm old son.

Then we can finally work out who are the good guys and the bad guys for another season.

Des is gone after 4 years of me (and others) investing trust, hope and (finally) joy in his performances.

Now it looks like I have to adopt Caracalla as one of my own after years of calling him a F***ing show pony.

Conversely, poor old Blake will now get to be booed, hissed and spat at by his previously adoring Bombers fans.

Oh well, all quiet on the Keating front for now. Maybe now the Lions will see the total lack of sense or mileage in trading him.

Looks like Bradshaw is now the latest hot property.

Sigh.

Actually won't all be over for sure till around 2nd December isn't it? When clubs have to submit their final lists to the AFL?

Still got a chance of delistings/retirements between now and then. Personally I hope their aren't any.

dislistings yes BUT

the only doubt abut retirements was lynchy but since he will play on then retirements is a non-issue

Unless Hart of Ascroft unexpectdly pull the pin - they are both in the age bracket where that is a possibility. Tho I think Ashcroft at the very least will push himself for one more season to celebrate/make that 300th game.

I was dreading this trading period because apart from the near certainty of losing Headland, the distinct possibility of Keating and Bradshaw going was also on the cards.

I feel much better now.

Sad about Headland and a shame in away to see Cupido back his bags.

Oh well, getting Caracella can't be all bad. I'm beginning to like him already.

At least it's all over....for now.
