whats the point of pulling this thread up. everyone has shockers once in a while. wellingham has been good for us in the last few weeks.

Yep, his last month has been excellent. Put in a shocker no doubt, but hardly a theme.

GTFO dickheads

Sharrod Wellingham copped a corked hip in the opening turn. He battled on but he was sore throughout the match. "He copped a big corky," Simpson said. "I'm hoping that's the reason why he butchered the ball so much. We need to have a chat about that."

:D

Wellingham has the talent ok but he's one lazy footballer that never looks like he gets out of second gear.
Not lazy. I would say that he can get complacent at times. His not the only one in defence that does. Hurn and schofeld as well. Wellinghams work rate is immense. He just had a mare on the weekend.

So he had a bad game. Whooptif******doo.

On an aside though, has anyone noticed that Sharod is the only player that Simmo has publicly had a go at? He is usually so protective of the boys but not with Sharod...and this is not the first time either.

Agree, but it is frustrating when he does stupid things like being a show off and trying to kick off one foot. He's not alone in doing that but he has some bad habits which makes him prime for criticism.

Know what you're saying and agree it looks bad when it stuffs up...& absolutely diabolical on the weekend.
Kicking off two feet effectively would be pretty impressive and show-off worthy though. :)

I know a lot of players at this level play with a niggle or two, and I'm probably clutching at straws, but are too many of our players playing with an injury of some type which is affecting their form.

There does seem to be a problem with us playing players with injuries this year.

I dont think Simpson has confidence in his our 22 to 28 players because of poor wafl form,
and has kept playing injured players as he believes they are still better than wafl players

Maybe that has something to do with our lack of injuries (reported anyway) this year!!

My cousin used to play with Wellingham whilst at Collingwood. I reckon Wellingham can be hot and cold - I mean look there are lots of ways to look at Wellingham: One way of looking at it is that he is an experienced AFL player and a Premiership player (with Collingwood), so he brings a winning feeling to the Eagles and so some Eagles supporters expect a lot from him. The other way of looking at Wellingham is that he could be hot and cold and that he was an ok player at Collingwood in a good team and now being at West Coast - they are an ok team so his form might drop.

It's hard to assess him, but I think he didnt have a proper pre-season so with that in mind he is probably playing "catch-up" this season. You would hope he offers more after a full pre-season.

he had rarely been hot and cold in the last 18 months. He was awesome last season and this hasnt done much wrong. Probably just jad his worst game since 2014 but thats because of a few hard hits.

You're having a laugh. He was brilliant last season and had been in ripping form up until last week.
