On the thread of Wells recruiting, my brother and I were attempting to put together a team of Geelong players who had left the club in the past decade and played with at least one senior AFL club. We were arguing about the strength and competitiveness of a team of ex-Cats. A few gaps and a player who didn't play for another club but (devastatingly) never played footy again - but here it is:

Re the article, it's interesting how often Balmy's name pops-up during conversations about our resurgence. One of our better pick-ups I'd suggest

Speaking of Wells' ability to recruit, how is G. Burbury going? He was recruited from a fairly strange circumstance, being a champion rower and having only played 7 senior games of footy for Hobart, iirc. If he turns out to be a good player, then that is a massive kudos to Wells. I hear he is doing ok for your reserves, but I only have limited info on him and would like to hear from someone who has a good idea how he is traveling from watching the reserves. Cheers.
