Not sure if i misheard - but did anyone else hear Rowey say this morning he had heard a rumour about 'a player dobbing some players in about the broken curfew - and the player involved has just scrapped into todays side'?

Interesting if true

Rowey has nothing else to talk about today so he needs something to fill in the gaps before 1pm.

Some rang in and gave them a bit of a blast regarding that and they rang Phil Harper who refuted it and said the players came forward themselves. They were not dobbed in by another player!

Do you honestly expect the club to come out and say..... 'oh yeah player xyz told us about it' I mean really, we may be somewhat transparent, but that would never happen.

Usually where there is smoke there tends to be something smoldering. And we are particularly good at keeping things in house.

However I was busy doing things, noisy baby etc so my question was did i hear what was said correctly?

Lots of credibilty has been lost through Rowe's show on 5AA this morning. Afraid that he's either a real dork or just stirring things for ratings. Disappointing...as are many of the "supporters" comments about Jericho. Hope he shows them today. When given the chances this year he has produced.

I didn't hear much of the show - but the 12 oclock news mentioned that John Ried had denied that Welsh was out for any reason other than his shins, and dispelled rumours that Welsh has broken the curfew - by indicating that Rhett Biglands had taken him home prior to the curfew. Then went onto say that people may think otherwise but that he would take the players at their word.

Sunday mail also makes mention of another player (other than the three penalised) being out but not admitting to it.

I assume this is what you are referring to ?

He's been pathetic again.

Take the dark glasses off Elvis and stop living in the past. You might notice that Jericho had 13 touches from his 69% time on ground. You might also note that his EFF was 100%. That is what we need in the players....someone who can kick to position and finish. Early on some of our most highly skilled players were just not finding targets.
Bag a player if it is justified but Luke Jericho was certainly in our top third best on Saturday.

Pathetic was too harsh, I retracted that comment in another thread.

He wasn't bad yesterday, but he still shirks the contest, and his tackling and chasing wasn't up to scratch yesterday.

I also noticed he was the only bloke in the team, to try and play to the conditions, when its raining and muddy chip football doesn't work, go long to the square or atleast inside 50.

Here is interesting fact. For all the people that are bagging Jericho and creaming their pants over what Porplyzia offered yesterday, Jericho had a higher champion data efficiency ranking that Porplyzia.

C'mon Stiffy.

When I used that very same stat in defence of Knights one game you called me a stat whore.

Welcome to the club, Stiffmeister. ;) :p

Happy whoring!! :D

Thats only true with people who rely solely on stats to prove their point ;). I have said numerous times that Jericho is coming along but slowly and many times people will bag him just because they have a preconcieved ideas about him.

For example, many people here absolutely bag the living day lights out of Jericho for his lack of defensive action but not one of those people would dare suggest anything similar about Knights. But truth be told, both of those players have little to no defensive actions in their game. Its this set in stone opinions that shit me off.

Jericho no doubt has his flaws but we have had people on this board label his game against the Cats as pathetic when in actual fact he played a servicable game and was FAR FAR from our worse player. In fact he would probably be in the top 3rd best players yesterday.

Using stats alone is not good enough but isn't it a little be hypocritical that people who love to use the stats to prove their point, dismiss those same stats when they dispove their point ;)

We have had numberous cases of that regarding Jericho's game in the last 24 hours. Time to give players a clean slate and rate them equally on what they actually do on the field than go in looking for their faults. Jericho was efficient yesterday and while his 1st half was soft, his increase in intensity and output in the 2nd half was a big improvement on what he has shown previously.

Good point re Knights. While Jericho is nowhere near as prolific in terms of possessions his efficiency and effectiveness is, to put an arbitrary figure on it, probably double that of Knights. Yes, different roles in the team so hard to compare but i reckon 13 possies from Jericho up forward/wing will be just as important towards a winning score than Knights' 26 disposals thru the middle given both are equally unaccountable defensively.

Thorough incisive post Stiffy.

A caller rang 5AA tonight and said that he had the following first hand from a current Crows player:

It was one of the Crows players who dobbed Hudson and Welsh into the club for breaking the curfew - even though the dobber wasn't there at the time.

It was Biglands who saved Welsh's arse by saying that he took Welsh home well before the curfew.

The caller thought that it wasn't the greatest thing for team harmony for one of their own to dob players in.

Quite right too - low action IMO.

KG and Cornesy in particular gave it great credibility.

That actually lines up with a little snippet I read in the last day or so that they were dobbed in by a team-mate who just scraped into the team.

Very un- Australian IMO.
