Were Adelaide Unlucky

I thought the crows were unlucky today.
they could have been further in front at half time and were a little unlucky with free kicks as well I thought.

I know this is the Freo forum, just wondered what the thoughts were of their supporters.

Both sides were. If we had of lost by less than 5 points, there would have been an official complaint because of the Cunningham "point". Replays showed that it split the middle practically.

Both sides had there chances though.

I woundn't say they were unlucky with free kicks. Both of Careys goals came from Frees that would not have been there for anyone with less of a profile and as Kapow said Ritchies point went a good 2 metres inside the goal post.

The Crows certainly missed some shots , but so did we. Megastar will not kick as badly for goal again in his career.

I don't know why everyone is so down on this game , we had a big crew watching and it was excitement right down to the wire.

They missed too many shots on goal. That's not bad luck, that's bad kicking. And I didn't think we got too many soft frees (with the exception of a kick Sandilands got in the back pocket, which was another one of those baffling ruck contest decisions), certainly nothing as soft as Carey's 2nd free directly in front of goal. Any particular decisions you had in mind?

You could argue 5 posters is bad luck, maybe bad kicking. I don't think the umpiring was that bad either way but listening to the radio freo got a fair few more on the day (can't say i noticed but you cant argue with stats). That said, ours were all in the back half where most of yours were in the front half and led to a few goals (or points as the case may be).

I cant agree with the excitement point either. Was the sydney saints game from a while back exciting because it ended in a draw?

That's the only game i can think of that i've seen that was worse than this one.. but i have a bad memory.

I was expecting MUCH more, especially from the lineup we had, and we showed glimpses of what we should have been watching in the first half, in the second (if you can follow that, i almost cant).

Adelaide should be proud of the way they pressured, but let down for their kicking.. any other 'top 4' side would have pumped us.

There is no rule that says frees have to be the same for either side

13 Million dollars worth of players out there between the two teams and I've seen better Jnr Footy.

The dorkers of old come creeping back under pressure. Will need to lift 10 fold to beat Collingwood over there next week.

But we all know the Man and Mouse thing about Freo......squeak squeak!!

Freo shouldve been 6 goals down at halftime. Nuff said.
We were poor but on the flip side Adelaide werent much better on the whole of the game. Its a good sign though when we play poorly as that and collect the 4 pts . We missed Woodsy with his kicks breaking the lines at HB.
