I still have all the respect in the world for Leigh Matthews, he coached us to a flag, and even though he prevented us from one last year, I will always remember the past.
No, not turned at all.

Whenever Mick crosses the holy grounds of Subiaco, the members and supporters give him a standing ovation. Most members of this board feel the same way about Mick and he shall always be revered by us WC supporters.

The jibes at the moment are more to do with the excitement of winning, the WC Coach against his mentor gaining the 2-1 rivalry over him.

Those comments that were made are simply tongue in cheek.

I've got total respect for Mick Malthouse - I'll always hail the great man...

... but today the young man who lead us into victory was Woosha!

I reckon we should petition the Eagles to create a new club song version of "We're Flying High" with all swear words - to be sung in close wins

Eagles in the top 4 impossible, they were meant to be in the bottom 4 or wooden spooners - expert football analyists.

Eagles can't kick a winning score - Ken Judge

Eagles can't away - Victorian football clubs

hmm heres a Malthouse legacy:
Today's players who were recruited By Malty
Ben Cousins 1996
Michael Gardiner 1997
Michael Braun 1997
David Wirrupunda 1996
Drew Banfield 1993
Andrew Embley 1998
Chad Fletcher 1999
Phil Matera 1996
Chad Morrison 1996
Rowan Jones 1998

thanks maltee

LOL - have you been talking to EKA?? :p

Seriously though, I could be looking for a team to support during September unless there's a miracle of biblical proportions and Geelong somehow win 11 of it's last 14 games to make the finals.

I like it a lot! :D Screw the first verse, we could just keep repeating this verse for as long as the Dockers song does for (about 5 minutes).

I reckon we sack the Red Army and rename them the Grog Squad who's duty is to belt this little ripper out as loud as possible before the game.

lol, in a matter of fact...i have been talking to EKA on msn. but not directly about the the religion of eagleism.

but if your looking for a team to barrack for in september, our supporter packages have these great bonuses: -

- best dental cover around
- free bumper sticker saying "Up your's McChins!"
- free food stamps for your local supermarket (valid for 12 months)
- and a theme you can be proud to cheer too upon victory...i think

but the best bonus of all would have to be a chance to see your team live in september.

(not that im suggesting the 'f' word as of yet, but the chances are much higher than in previous seasons)

LOL - I should have known... EKA was trying to convince me to have the Eagles as my second team while I was over in Perth. :D

The free bumper sticker is a good incentive as you can never have enough things to stir the Carring Bush supporters with when they get beaten, especially in September. :D

As a matter of fact, the Melbourne based supporters also get Mick Malthouse's box of tissues to be used if your team loses the Grand Final... "I wanna be just like Mick!"

West Coast will play in finals this year or my real name's not Scouse... oh wait hang on a sec, it isnt. :D

Seriously though, I would be VERY surprised if the Eagles didn't finish in the top 4 after such a great start to the year, especially with all the home games still remaining.

lets not get too far ahead of ourselves, did u see how brisbane just turned on a switch and destroyed carlton today after being down 8 goals to 2 during the second quarter. (yes im aware we are talking about carlton, but brisbanes display was awesome)

i hope we can hold our own against them in round 12, because im going and id like to see the smirks off the gabba's peoples faces.

you would hear my solitary voice all over the ground. (it will be bad enough sitting among heaps of brisbane supporters on a ratio of 38 000 - 100.

total crowd tip that week - 38,100 (yes i know my tip is early. lol)
brisbane supporters = 38,000
eagles supporters = 100

I'm sure you'll find some words to tell me all about it mate. ;)

But remember, one week at a time... you guys are now 7-2 with a great opportunity to finish in the top 4 and maybe even a couple of home finals, but don't get too far ahead as things can change very quickly.

For sure, all this is worth nothing if we cant capitalize and get some home finals! Your right, it can change very quickly! We have to keep a lid on all this!

It's a nice feeling with our team winning again! When I think back to the old days and the euphoria that came with that, then the 'in between' years from Malthouse to Woosha we have the right to be happy again.
I know as I saw the 'old' players leave and the young men that came in their place, I worried - as I am sure lots of other supporters did - but you cant live in the past and these young players have shown they have the same dedication as their predecessors and are deserving of our praise. I'll be sorry when those remaining from the early era leave, but that's life! Carn Eagles!!!
