Getting Chick is a very positive step, but the club isnt resting on their laurels just yet.

Rumor has it we're negotiating with the Roos for their Number 4 pick. Who knows what we're bargaining with but if we get it it'll put us in good stead to bargain for Headland.

daddy_4_eyes I don't think that is anywhere near enough for the number 4 pick. Why would North want another ruckman anyway? To get the number 4 pick we will have to trade a quality player.

Only deal I could come up with without throwing in Kerr, Gardiner, Wirra or 5 players together.

Hell No!

North would have to throw in Pickett and pick #20 to make that deal atleast close to even

Cox is a superstar... not to be messed with

Now I'm confused. Are you serious, or has the sarcasm gone waaaaay over my head?

I think that was a 747 just went over.

I don't think the guy was serious.

Get ready for the "Gardiner, Kerr, Judd" we want trades about to happen again.

But expect the same answer from Woosha........."Off Limits"

If the Eagles were serious about Headland, do you think they would have traded the #10 pick now, instead of waiting til Monday?

I think West Coast took advantage of the fact that freo were hellbent on getting Headland so WC went after chick without going through a trading war. I'm sure if by saturday night brisbane were still not accepting freo's offer then freo would start making serious offers for Chick, which would end up costing us more to get him.

What would we have to pair with the #10 pick that we would be actually willing to send to Brisbane? Not much.

A WCE deal for Headland will need a higher pick than that, I think.

I have a strange feeling that having not been particularly active in trading for the last few years, we're holding back some mindblowing last minute trade for Des.

Maybe it's not likely, but Whoosha's smirk today when discussing Headland must've meant something.

*crosses fingers* Id give Wirra to North for #4 if Brissie would take that for Des. I think our current policy of listing pretty much all players as required is a good idea - it makes the other clubs think they've gotten a bargain when we trade with them.

I got the same impression, it was very much the sort of smirk he used to get before hip and shouldering someone into next week.

I think I know whats on his mind. We trade Embley for Troy Longmuir who we ontrade for Burns who we ontrade for Doering for Rioli for Edwards for Davis for Clarke for Burton for Lekkas for Schofield for Johnstone for Richardson for West for Crawford for the 1st pick, which, along with our 26th pick, we trade for Headland. Just a simple 16 way trade :)

Fantastic. The only thing wrong with that trade is that it doesn't involve trading Harding back to Freo, which would be worth it just for sh*ts and giggles.

bollocks.. the eagles are just tightfists come trade time..
I just perused another thread full of what should we get for Judd if he wants to go home sentiments stating that you'd want a good player and a pick or a few picks etc.. welcome to our world :p
If you were offered #4 for Judd would you take it?? Hell no and rightly so. The smirk on Woosha's face I daresay was him grinning to himself "heh one bloody draft pick for chick.. suckers"
