I'm bloody gutted at this performance tonight!! Primarily because we got beaten by an inferior team but one that worked harder, wanted to win more. Our tackling was soft and we got SMASHED all night at the clearances. We have soooo long to go yet it's not funny. End rant!! :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
 
Yet again, we get out to a lead and fold like a pack of cards. Too many underdone players.

Of course we deliberately folded last year according to the masses but are just crap now. They will have their cake and eat it too and about a dozen of them will say we have started tanking already.

There is no logic with the hating masses.

Worst half I have seen in a long time from Carlton, players taking each other out up forward and down back, costing us goals at either end. There is also a reason why some of our players get a lot of the ball. The opposition let them because they turn it over far too much.
 
You know I think part of it was in their heads coz Judd was out there...They seemed to not know how to play their own game, and probably expected Judd to wave a magic wand at some at them and ******....!

Mate - West Coast supporters went thru precisely the same thing last year. It will last as long as it takes for the next big thing comes around.
 
Dissapointing. Had the game half way through the second quarter then switched off. Never seen a worse tackling side in my life, would not of had a tackle stick in the first half.

How many times can we hit a richmond player in our forward 50? Why do we handball to Carazzo 70 meters out when he cannot hit a target going forward. He gets alot of the ball but butchers it every time.

We got killed at the stoppages, maybe becuase of the ruckman, although thought cloke and ohailpin were serviceable. Murphy was good early but quiet after half time, although appeared injured (ankle?) Stevens got alot of the ball but when he doesnt have it is useless. Judd was good and will get better, same with hadley.

Thought Bower and Grigg were good and will get better, although grigg needs a right foot!!! lol Edwards was ok, but needs to kick those goals!

Early days and will begin to show a bit soon, just might be a bit frustrating at times.

(Hope the media give it a rest about Judd, there are 21 others out there, its getting embarrassing)

True, but it doesn't guarantee you another Prelim appearance in coming years. Take your chances when you get them.
 
I don't see we're any softer than most other teams (well we ARE softer than GEELONG), but they players just lack the honed skills like the other teams. I mean their skills are so lacking that any slight shift in momentum causes everything to fall in a heap.
 
Yep terrible performance, The only positive to come from losing to last years wooden-spooners is that at least every BigFooty member that isn't a braindead moron will realise Carlton did not tank last year.

just a question, is bluesrules a real carlton supporter? Just wondering because he just made a thread about having rich in sight and his sig says he loves tanking.

Kind of agrre on the skills.. Hadlee was fierce, but overall our tacking in particular plus the determination and 2nd efforts, (which I associate with 'toughness') were terrible.

Actually I hadn't even thought of that, I originally had 20 20 hine sight as my sig.. but then you gave me an infraction for having an opinion on tanking so I did it as a joke

But hey, I wont post in here anymore, you guys will be a little touchy for awhile anyway

I popped over to ask how Judd went as I did not get to see or even hear a skerrick of the game.

I really think you're being a bit precious about the signatures though.
You will certainly spend the rest of this week "red carding" oppo posters for far, far worse than his sig.

Actually, I'm happy our older blokes stood up that game. Make no mistake, those guys won us the game. If they keep playing to that level, that will allow the younger blokes to come on.

I think you might have to re-assess playing Judd. Moments of brilliance, but clearly not right.
