Were we robbed??

Gerrard Healey says the umpire got it wrong in telling Ottens to play on after 8 seconds, and that the umpire got caught up in the emotion of the game.

Who was that umpire?

MESSAGE TO THE AFL:

He cannot be allowed to officiate during the finals.

I watched the game again today, and they were calling play on after 7-8 seconds all game. Difference is, opposition players were not so desperate to move in at the player with ball.

Toby Thurstans got caught out and reacted nearly indentically 2 minutes prior to Ottens, which resulted in the stoppage where Ablett goaled.

If the Umps do this all game, then I have no problems with it, but it is a worry when they let it go all year, and then all of a sudden, for one game they decide to clamp down on it.

In any game won by less than a kick the opposition is always robbed. There is always a contentious decision your side misses or the other side gets in every game. The Hawks won by a squillion points but I bet even they could argue one decision that went against them that could have added one more goal.

Geelong played good footy...Port also played tight, accountable footy.
But your blokes lost it the second they went defensive with a few minutes to go.....if your boys just had faith in their game and kept attacking they would have pinched a very good win...

It may be a loss that you needed or not only time will tell.

You better "take the lid off" now because already I have read posts about the "wheels falling off."

The least you could have done was beat bloody Port for us Pies supporters....lol

Interesting point raised on Footy Confidential last night about the closing stages of the game on Sunday. Apparently Ottens was told to play on eight seconds after taking a mark, instead of the full 15 seconds they're allocated. Since Cassisi kicked the winning goal with 3 seconds left on the clock, and Ottens rightfully had another 7 seconds before he should have had to get the ball moving, is it safe to say we were robbed?
