That's because you're playing a game with a bunch of randoms, who feel no obligation to uphold standards of the game, hence restrictions are enforced to prevent such a thing.

We aren't playing with a bunch of randoms, unless you're a dickhead, no one is going to reveal information, and ultimately, the less restrictions the better.

It just creates a stink, because you're enforcing a rule purely based on the distrust you have on the people you are playing with, who are also people you know (in a sense).

No, what tends to happen is people posting "OooooOOOOooooO" posts and thinking they're funny and then they do it again and again because they can get away with it.

This entire thread right here was designed for discussion about the games past, present and future. If you're killed, feel free to post in here but don't post in the thread once you're dead. It's simple. If you're completely dead in the game, then you have no further part in the game.

Could you imagine if we got down to the final 8 or so and we get 15 people talking in the thread with shitty "OOooooOOOooooO" posts? I'm a partial fan of the 1 goodbye post so long as it's respectful however I don't see why the 0 post rules has everyone all cranky? It's just one post and you have freedom in here to post outside of the current game happening.

When you truly think about it, you don't need to post a goodbye message in the thread when there's a whole thread here open to anyone and everyone.

It really doesn't matter. The rule is there and I aim to enforce it like all other rules. It's something new and despite the negative feedback already, I'm persisting with it and seeing how it will go once all is said and done.

People don't like the change man. Just don't like it.

I agree with 1 "damn, gg" or "i told you I am village. Good luck" post and that should be it. It is hard to not post "Clarkey is mafia, how can you all not see it?" at times when the village are eating into mafia hands. More than 1 post, even when not impacting on a game shouldn't be allowed.

Good on you for sticking with it though. More people trying new things the closer we get to more consistantly awesome games

"OooOOOoOoooOO" posts are not goodbye posts.

If you want to restrict those, then that's no unreasonable. However, going about banning it is a futile attempt though.

And goodbye posts are NOT discussion about the games. Hence, they don't need to go into this thread.

I agree with the "if you're completely dead, then you have no further part" but it doesn't have to be so strict.

Next paragraph, has no relevancy to goodbye posts which is the crux of the discussion.

No, you don't need to. But you don't need to do a lot of things. People do it because people want to, and why shouldn't they if its not harming anyone or anything?

In actual fact, you don't need to put in place this rule either. The difference between this and the aforementioned, is that this just makes people feel restricted, and for what?

People don't like the change man. Just don't like it.

Sorry, how many games have you played?

Because I've played every single Werewolf game this off-season (sad, I know).

And I've enjoyed almost every single one of them. I can say they are already consistently awesome games.

In fact, the only two games I can distinctly remember not enjoying was the one where Soggy outed all of us, which like I said before, doesn't happen unless you are a dick, and yours.

But other than that. They've all been consistently awesome games, with people getting it right in regards to the balance of keeping it the same while trying new things.

On the contrary, many people included the "OooooOOOoooOo" in their goodbye posts so bad point there mate.

This actually generally lead to people posting again after them, thinking that if they just put a OoooOOoOOooo at the end of it, it's all fine.

Just between you and I (and I guess everyone else now), this is most likely the last game I mod. I can't just say "Please don't post when you're dead. It is against the rules." People will just go "Well I'm dead so it doesn't matter".

Perhaps a better solution would be 1 goodbye post and any more will result in whichever faction you were from losing one of their x amount of actions during the night selected at random. That's not as strict as banning and yet, could still encourage people to leave the thread.

If people don't want to play with the rule of no posts after death, then they shouldn't have played.

It's very much a trial and error process and right now, I'm 100% committed to modding this game the best way I know how to. It's completely your choice if you want to follow the rules but please consider the time I'm putting into it to provide free entertainment for you all and I just wanted to try something different for a change. In all honesty, it really isn't that big of a deal. Either move on and get over it or just quit the game. All good :thumbsu:;

It has nothing to do with your game. I don't care about your game, as I'm dead, and have unsubbed from the game (so I don't have the urge to post), as I usually do from games I die from.

I'm just laying it out there to ensure future mods don't put this rule into their games.

The best way to enforce a restriction on death posts, is by calling them out on it in the game. Rather than ping those who actually have the sense to make harmless posts once they die, call people out when they post death posts where the situation doesn't call for it.

But then again, I hardly see it as a problem in the first place, so even my suggestion above seems a bit extreme to me.

On this forum, 3. But a lot more in other places.

That's awesome. It is a good thing that you are enjoying the games. Not being sarcastic at all btw. But not everyone would have enjoyed every game as much. We can, as a forum, still try new things to make them even better and for a lot more people. I don't see why trying to expand the game is a problem?

**** you Essendon. Didn't think I needed anymore reason to hate them.

I followed your rules ClarkeM :)

Nothing wrong with trying to expand the game, but this isn't the first time you have insinuated that the games we play are boring, after having only played, what? 2 yourself?

*facedesks* I never said they were boring. I have said you get out what you out in when you play them. The example I gave was in the first game, I spent mostly watching, didn't get overly involved. Second game, participated a lot more. I had more fun in the latter then the former. Did not say they were boring. Please, stop putting words in my mouth

Right.

So what does this have to do with needing to find new changes to make them bor-, oh sorry, "more consistently awesome games".

As you've just stated, it's not the changes that are needed to make the game fun, it's the player himself

So, like I said, shit changes aren't "good" because it's for the sake of change.

I just gather the impression that you are on a crusade to find a solution to where there is no problem, and the consequence of that, like your previous game, you've gone and thrown the baby out with the bathwater.

By having the same "30 players, 5 mafia, 5 werewolf, 1 SK, 1 seer" type of game, they would get old. You need slight modifications to the formula. Yes the games are going well now, but if we kept playing the same structure, they won't be as good then as they are now.

There isn't a problem. I just don't see why you are so against people trying new things. Which is really what it seems like.

I have no problem with people trying new things, although, a lot of the result of new things can be easily foreseen.

Such as the everyone gets a role, and the complete restriction of death posts.

I'm just making a case here so future mods don't take the same approach as ClarkeM's no dead posts game, and raising other alternatives. I have no problem with ClarkeM putting it in his game, like I said, I don't care. My agenda is to ensure that future mods who read this, understand that it's not the greatest rule.

And I have always been a fan of new changes. What I'm not a fan of is people trying a lot of new changes all at once.

It's just not very sustainable when you play with 30 different people, who don't have the time nor the care, to understand the new game, and where all they want to do is play Werewolf, rather than try new things.

Nothing wrong with trying new things, but a lot of new things, just isn't practical.

I want to know who put The Filth Wizard and I as lovers. As amusing as it is, he always gets killed early
I was tempted to make FR and bffl the lovers and see if it drove FR mad :D

The only good pairings always involve someone that gets killed early.

Appoligies for the double post but I somewhat had a question for ClarkeM but would like to open it to everyone:

Thoughts on liking posts when you're dead?
I don't see an issue with it as long as the dead are liking none lynch votes or big discussion posts but with ClarkeM's no posting when dead rule, was curious to see the thoughts on liking. Cause I could be a dead werewolf, and liking just my fellow werewolves' posts for example. Or has no one thought about this?
